11 Technology Leader

Who is the world's technology leader?

This is a very broad question so before you answer consider what qualifiers you are going to use.  Would your answer consider which country has the best tech innovations?  Which country uses the most technology?  Or which population spends the most money on tech?
Or who develops or manufactures the most technology for the rest of the world?

Do some research before you answer and cite your references.
Your sources should be fairly new! (like 2013)

Support your thinking.

  1. Google is definitely starting to take over especially with their browser Google Chrome and the recent release of their browser based computers. They are slowly on their way to world domination by technology. There multiple programs like Google Earth, Maps, Translate, Gmail, and much more signify that they have great minds and many resources at their disposal. Google answers more than one billion questions a day asked by people around the world. Since September 4, 1998 Google has become the father of search engines. I am expecting the question in ten years to be not Mac or PC but rather Mac, PC, or Google. Google has also been working on the Google Glass project which is the first of its kind and is most likely to be followed with models from Apple and Microsoft. The Chrome books on the other hand are cheap but the could use a lot of work on them but they do have potential. Google Glass and the Chrome books are just the start of the rising of the superpower called Google.

    1. This is an interesting approach to this question. When I posed it, I expected the answers to be certain countries. Google has been compared to small countries so.... hmmm.

    2. I, for one, welcome our new Google overlords.

  2. China is the world technology leader for now and it will be for a certain amount of time. I think the next technology leader will be the U.S but not for awhile. China has many good tech innovations, like some stores have virtual shopping billboards and they let customers shop in the craziest places like the subway. China is growing very fast in technology for the economy and industrial purposes. Research shows that China's economy is growing every year from their new technologies which have had a big impact on their markets world wide. People have found that out of all country's the U.S is the one which spends the most money on technology which is not surprising in my mind. Research also shows that China develops the most technology for the world and this is very true knowing that a lot of tech products are made from China.

  3. Who is the world tech leader? Who's to say, really? China certainly has the manufacturing of tech covered, and without them, the manufacturing of phones, tablets, computers, ect. would come to a severe halt. On the other hand, the United States are the ones who buy all of the devices from china in the first place; does that make us the tech leaders? Without us a large chunk of the devices would go unsold. What about the companies that design the devices? Are companies like Apple and Google the real tech leaders, and if so, which one of them is the true leader of the industry. I for one don't think there is a real tech leader. Without the competition and the constant struggle to get you to buy their devices, one tech company wouldn't have any need to innovate or spend money trying to improve their product, as they would have total control and technological advancement would come to a standstill.

  4. I think the U.S.A is the world's tech leader for now. America has tons of amazing tech companies like Apple, Google, Microsoft, etc. Apple is known all over the globe. They have created amazing phones, tablets, and other luxury devices. Apple is the richest tech company followed by Google. Google has started soaring in terms of money. Google has made more innovated technology like their upcoming device, Google glass. Google glass is the first innovative device of it's kind and will make multiple errands easier and quicker to do. That is why i believe the U.S. is the leading country in technology.

  5. I'd have to say China. China because they seem to be the most innovated place on earth. China is basically the birthplace of all car companies. Most technologies we use today such as I phones, I pads, advanced computers, etc. are all based and created in China. In fact, the United States of America is the most innovated place on earth. I was wrong with the China conception. The United States of America defiantly spends the most money on technology. For example, TV's, Phones, DVD's, Blu-ray, car, smartphones, net books, laptops, desktops, and the list goes on. As I already said, China is the leading base of technology companies and manufacturers. They are the one's who make all these great devices for us here in the United States.

  6. I believe that the worlds leader is still China due to their population and their advances they had but based on the article that I found stating World's next technology leader will be US, not China – if America can shape up. this meaning America has the power to lead in technology but it is all up to them it is all up to me and it is all up to you. My honest opinion when reading this article was that America is lazy, not that I am a hypocrite this is just my opinion of our society.

  8. I have to say the tech leader is Tokyo or China because they make and use the most technology out there because they already have robots that do back flips and that make birth or that serve table at restaurants. Yeah China is overpowered in high tech like for example I really saw a robot that did back flips more than the Olympic record! I'm wondering if they end up going Pacific Rim status on us and take out giant aliens that are trying to kill human kind, but what I am saying is that china is very very overpowered on technology. Some of china's work is very cool and scary at the same time just like the robot that simulates human birth and for pete sake man it screams and cry's like a real human. They also have some holograms in airports to guide people through the place. They also have a soda machine that when you drink a little bit of it and turn it upside down and back up it turns some parts to chunks of ice to have nice cold beverage. I also think that they are planning to make some hover cars and some see through phones. I am sorry if I make any mistakes on this. :)

  9. The U.S is still the most technologically heavy country in the world. We are not the most savvy, however. countries like japan have done things that we won't be financially ready to do for several years at most. The U.S. achieves this by attempting to pull bright minds from other countries, making the poulation of tech users more heavy in our country.

  10. China has the most mass produced electronics. As for the most advanced technology city that would be Tokyo. Tokyo had the cheapest internet and also the fastest. http://www.askmen.com/top_10/travel_200/220c_travel_top_ten.html I would say that tokyo has the most advanced city because they make a lot of useless items. The other day I saw a person build a trash can in which it calculated where trash in the air would fall so it could catch it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNWd4FFYDv0 China has the most mass produced electronics as an example we owe china over 15 trillion dollars.

  11. USA has the most users of computers, by about 100 million people (http://www.mapsofworld.com/world-top-ten/world-top-ten-personal-computers-users-map.html).

The US also has the best military technology (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_country_has_the_best_military_technology#slide1)

We also have many brands of technology that are respected worldwide, and although we may owe a bunch of money to other countries, i believe that we have the best technology.

  12. Currently it is China but USA is more intelligent when it comes to innovation and improvement. But inequality and moneys influence on political power could cause a problem for that. Even though were facing problems our institutions are widely inclusive and make for more innovation. All the resources that China is pouring into their study of science and technology doesn't make up for their extractive institutions which will ultimately kill their innovation. So yeah if we clean up our act we will take up the mantle.

  13. I would have to say its a three way tie between China, Japan, and the United States because China manufactures everything but all the designing mostly goes on in Japan and the United States. but the United States uses the most technology as well as spending the most money on it. I mean without the U.S. population most companies like Microsoft and Apple would have never kicked off and started too make money.

  14. Overall, the US is commonly refereed to by citizens of it's own as the country on top in mostly every aspect. New research is starting to show the reality, however, putting the US in the lower-tier categories in terms of essential topics such as education or health care. In terms of average internet speeds, possibly the most important of all, the United States does't even make the top ten. According to SmartPlanet.com, I realized Japan has very high rankings for internet speed and the percent of the population browsing above 10mbps, offering average speeds of 50mbps and 43% of the population above 10mbps. Based on this information, paired with some other research done through "The Top Tens," Japan would be the world leader in terms of technology. To prove this, the article uses examples such as Japan's development of a dimensional elevator, an elevator that can transport passengers to the top of a tower in mere seconds. Overall, I would say Japan may be number one in terms of technology, but the US would definitely make the top 10 list.

  15. 1. Most of the technology is used in China and Korea, not only do they use most of the technology but in my opinion they are also the ones with the most technology, including Japan. Ever hear of vocaloids such as Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, Megpoid Gumi, etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q247Rpa32ao Japanese have made holograms of these vocaloids and played their music as they dance for the entertainemnt for millions. Think of it, if this vocaloid concert was about a year ago what else have they made in technology that we have not come close to yet? Due to such advance in technology they must also spend the most. But in my opinion most brand of production would have to be Google or Apple.

  16. At the moment Finland is due to its amount of research.U.S used to be the top but decreased its amount of research and put it down to 3rd. Japan is second greatly increased from before. Isreal took 4th because it is in a more economic look at the moment.

  17. I believe that China is the world's technology leader. China has been the leading country in technology up until the 1400s. China is already the primary manufacturer of most of the consumer goods that are sold in America. Most technologies we use today such as I phones, I pads, advanced computers, etc. are all created and based in China. Research shows that China's economy is growing each year from their new technologies, which has had a big impact on their markets worldwide. They're the one's who make all these great devices for us here in the U.S.

  18. I would have to say Japan is the world's tech leader right now. Japan has a high standard of living and is a great place for business. Japan for the past 50 years has been the uncontested leader of consumer electronics. Also the citizens of Japan almost all have the new tech devices that come out. Most of the electronics and other devices we buy are made in Japan, as usually you will see it say "Made in Japan". Japan's population sort of relies on their technology to help them in their daily lives. They have also expanded their space and space military technology farther than most countries.

  19. I believe the current winner in the spending money on technology would be Dubai http://goo.gl/DErcje. In just a few short years they have become the example of extravagance and luxury in the world. According the Forbes,"Sweden placed first in a global ranking of countries in terms of their readiness for tech business, compared with a second place ranking in 2009." http://goo.gl/fht0lA
With respect to the question, America is the largest creator or innovator of technology while China is the largest producer of it. I believe technology as a whole is invented by the world. People of every ethnicity and culture can now come together via the technology they helped create to innovate our future.

  20. Japan is most definitely the world’s leading technologically advanced country. In fact there’s a website that displays daily innovations and develops in technology that comes for Japan (http://japandailypress.com/tag/technology/). Supporting my answer is a chart depicting global innovation; Japan is a bit ahead of the United States (http://cdn.theatlanticcities.com/img/upload/2011/09/30/img4.jpg).
Japan also spends the money on tech, as they have restaurants, stores, etc all run by tech; no humans at all! Although Japan is a considerably small by land, the social environment consists of tech that we have yet to implement in the United States. The new innovated developments are extremely expensive and dense in parts. Thus placing Japan as the #1 country in tech expense allowance.
When it comes to public use, the United States holds the record for population to tech purchases. As the stereotype defines “ ’murica and white girls”, we cannot handle periods of time without our technology. If something happens to our technical possessions, we instantly retrieve new devices. The growing rate makes us the leading population money expense.
Samsung clearly is the world’s leading manufacturing company. There parts are found in almost every piece of technology.

  21. I believe that china is the worlds leading technology because of several reasons. one they are out to be number one. (ai) trying to be number one by spending a lot of there money on tech. two, they already have some computer operated things integrated into every day life. Such as holographic guides in airports and there high populated work areas. There might also be stores run by computers or robots with no human employees. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q247Rpa32ao Is a place that i got some of my resources from.

  23. The United States of America is probably the world's leader of technology. For one, we have the internet. Silicon Valley is the reason why the world has an internet to access. It is in the US where some of the greatest technology corporations are headquartered. Google, Intel, Microsoft, Apple, AMD, Dell, etc. are all from this place. Fremont, California has the fastest internet speed on Earth. The US is also one of the few countries in the world that has successfully integrated technology into all of the aspects of life including military, medicine, infrastructure, and common homes.
Also, space is a factor. The US was able to send man to the moon in 1969, and they have repeated this incredible thing more than 3 times after that. To this date, no other country has managed to send man to the moon. And now, the US is the only country to have sent a probe past the solar system (Voyager), and to have explored Mars with not one, but three rovers.
Finally, the US has, by far, the most powerful military in the world. The US also has the most powerful airforce in the world, being equipped with manned craft such as the F22 and F35.

  25. Japan seems to be the most technologically advanced country, at the very least in the field of robotics. (http://youtu.be/MaTfzYDZG8c) These more casual robots are humanlike androids that mimic the movement of the person they're watching. This is incredible because it is paving the way for personal robotics. They are also leading the way as far as industrial robotics go (http://goo.gl/2JsTqy)

  26. China is the most technological country according to the inter-webs and to my general knowledge. Every thing that is made is pretty much sent here from china ans the U.S. just buys all of it and uses it in every day life. The Chinese make most things that we use today especially technology.

  27. I would say internet-wise, the technological leader would be South Korea. Inside South Korea lies one of the most technologically advanced company in the world Samsung. Samsung is known to produce a wide range of products from strong gaming laptops, to (one of) the best (most powerful) smartphones available to the public. South Korea is also known for having the best Wi-Fi connectivity speed in the world.( http://www.advancedtechnologykorea.com/7755/ )

Switzerland remained the most innovative nation in the world in the 2013 Global Innovation Index, the sixth edition of an annual report published by the World Intellectual Property Organization, the French business school instead , and Cornell University. In fact, all of the top 25 countries on the list were in the top 25 last year, too.http://www.technologyreview.com/view/516721/2013-global-innovation-index/

  29. Japan is 100% no doubt in my mind the leading country in technology advances. They spend so much money on new tech over there.they make robots, have battery powered planes, and are trying to remove some pollution in the air. Japan is truly the most advanced when it comes to tech. they even have MIND READING ROBOTS!
