  1. Google Apps is more easily accessible, and more beginner friendly, whereas Microsoft is more challenging for beginners. Microsoft, however, comes across as more professional, and has more customization. Google Apps can sometimes be too limiting.

    1. 2. For example, when trying to make a website, the Google Website tool was very limiting, and I had little ability to change placement boxes, shapes, sliding bars, or any other professional design. Microsoft's website builder can be made using ready ASP.NET, PHP, Node.js, or HTML5 templates or built entirely from scratch, even optimizing it for mobile users.

  2. 1.Google has many good varieties of tools on google doc but the best one would be the tool research because you don’t have to go on a different tap and search for something else and then Microsoft Office you go to different area on the computer to search for different website ro something you need to fine.

    2. In the end, I have to acknowledge that the Microsoft Office suite is a superior tool in many respects to Google Drive. However, the powerful online features of Google Drive, not to mention it’s browser-based functionality are attractive to millions of users across the globe.

    1. 1. Google has a tool on google doc that you can research many things and that would be google research and Microsoft Office doesn't have a tool like this one

      2. Microsoft has onenote, onenote is a computer program for free-form information gathering and multi-user collaboration and it has over 100 million people in time using this format

  5. 1. The formatting options in Drive are very basic. Much more basic than the interface of Microsoft Office.

    2. Microsoft Office has more advanced formatting options in Word and PowerPoint than there would be in Docs and Slides.

  6. 1.) Google has chrome so whether you have Microsoft or not it still comes down to using its browser
2.)Microsoft owns Xbox and who doesnt like xbox

  7. 1. My favorite feature that comes with Google Drive is the built in cloud storage. All of my Documents auto save to my online hard drive, and I can easily close an assignment at school and open it back up exactly where I left off when I get home.

    2. I think Power Point's auto present feature is really cool and professional. It would certainly take lots of practice to talk over a Slideshow that was auto playing itself, and whomever you are presenting too would admire that effort.

  8. 1: Microsoft and Google both have a writing program. Google has "Docs" and Microsoft has "Word" Google is the clear winner between these two programs because it is inherently sent to cloud, whereas Microsoft automatically saves it to the computer itself. This makes Docs much easier to access from another computer.

2: Microsoft Exel destroys Google's Sheets. You can add pictures and charts into Exel, wheres you cannot in Sheets. Exel also has many more options for formatting, structural organization, and more built-in templates to use.

  9. 1. Google has Youtube

    2. Microsoft has a more complex drawing program called Microsoft Visio which is way more complex then Google Draw

  10. 1) Microsoft is for a more professional group of people while google stuff is for people who have little experience in stuff like this.

    2) PowerPoint absolutely destroys slides it has so many more features like it can live stream within it while slides has nothing like that.

  11. 1) When it comes to personal, daily use, Google Drive tends to be the winner as its ease of access allows for the everyday person to create simple documents, spreadsheets, and slideshows that they could possibly need to make. This allows Google Drive to be perfect for casual and everyday use.

    2) Microsoft Office on the other hand, is the clear winner among businesses as the variety of more specific features gives companies the ability to be more efficient and specific rather than broad like Google apps are. The Microsoft programs allow for a more professional environment.

  14. 1) Due to the large amount of integrable application more easily available to Google Apps, it would make it a clear winner. With extensions, apps and add-ons available to the Google clientele, this would be one of the only situations in which Google Apps would triumph over Microsoft.

    2) Microsoft clearly wins in terms of exportable formats. While Google can do the basic PDF, Microsoft-applicable app and other simple exports, Microsoft can export into more formats like multiple types of videos, pictures and, for Excel specifically, CVS files. Clearly, Microsoft takes the cake here.

  15. 1. Google is way more popular because it's used way more in schools and any other place, plus I think Google is way easy to used then Microsoft cause I don't even used it.

    2. Microsoft has way more opportunity to used and it has professional experience apps that you can used and Microsoft has Skype who doesn't used Skype like really.

    ReplyDelete
  16. 1. Google apps has completely, 100%, no strings attached website creator called google sites, Microsoft has no such thing.
    2. Microsoft has power-point, which has the ability to be used off line, same can be said about other Microsoft office applications, but not google docs applications

    ReplyDelete
  17. 1. Google Apps has something called Labs in all of it's applications including e-mail. These are basically experimental features that Microsoft Office does not have. These experimental features are tested by actual users and can potential be made into real features just like a feature called "undo send" in Gmail. These features can potentially make the Google experience much better than ever before and Microsoft Office has nothing like it.

    2. Though Microsoft cannot always be exported to Google Apps which may be a problem sometimes so Google Apps may be lacking in the import department while Microsoft Office can import and use more kinds of files.

  18. 1.) Google absolutely destroys Microsoft by being able to collaborate. With Google you can share your projects online and have a whole team working on a single project at the same time. With Microsoft this is pretty much impossible, and extremely difficult to collaborate with other people.

2.) Microsoft's programs have a more advanced and complicated way of formatting, and more ways to customize a document than on Google.

  19. 1. google as more apps then Windows and google has over 10 million apps and are still making more as we speak

    2. Microsoft PowerPoint has broadcasting for their presentation on a web browser and google drive can't broadcast thought web browsers

  21. 1.) The formatting options in Drive are very basic, suitable for basic business letters, reports, and spreadsheets, but for professional looking business-grade documentation or presentations Office is superior. Tracking changes in Word is also superior to Google Docs’ rudimentary functionality.
2.) Microsoft Word has more options for formatting than you'll probably ever need. Microsoft word has more features on the app then google drive. In the app for microsoft word you can change the font and color, annotate, page breaks, columns, and page margins. Google drive on the app can't do these features

  22. 1. Well in google docs there are many useful features like being able to work on a document with another person at the same time, also you can research something within the document if you need to do something on the fly. Google docs also has many add on's like easy bib which helps you cite your sources in an easy way google docs is just better than Microsoft word in general.

    2. Well there is more memory in Microsoft office than there is in google drive, Microsoft has 30 gigs to start and google has 15 gigs.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Google has documents as Microsoft has word, both are alike but very different, both are used by many different company and both cost money for enterprise and are work sources, but they have there differences.

    1. Google apps version of a Digital document is called Documents, It has many alike to Microsoft ranging from Spell check to Different fonts and editing margin size, Documents may have a cleaner and simpler version of word with a bit of make up and contour on it but has some back pimples like, Google apps has no grammar check unless you pay money to buy an add-ons so you may have a bit of better grammar, it has very nasty fonts and some are not as fun as like wingdings or like sunrise fonts.

    2. Microsoft has word and it is a very disgusting grey, it does yes have more features that Google Documents it has a little guy to help you called clippy the paper clip. it has its own grammar check and is used for more businesses and seen more business professional and shows its features more prominently.

Microsoft wins due showing off and not hiding

  24. 1. Since Google is involved with the cloud, Google Drive auto saves work. This means that when someone's computer crashes, they will lose barely any work, if any at all since Google constantly keeps on saving their work. Microsoft is much more susceptible to having work be lost due to a computer crash or having it freeze.

    2. Microsoft Excel is has a programming feature called Excel VBA (Visual Basic for Applications). This allows users to program different things such as simulators and games that Google Sheets can not do. Google sheets is mainly just for having spreadsheets.

  26. 1. One area where Google can beat Microsoft is in the search engine. Everybody loves and uses Google search everyday. Microsoft's Bing, however, is a different story. Nobody really uses bing hat often, and almost everyone switches to google asap. Even when using internet explorer, google is used as the main search engine 66% more than Bing. The difference between Google and Bing usage on chrome is much bigger, with 90.5% of people using google and 2.7% of people using Bing. The numbers show that people prefer google over Bing in every way.

    2. Microsoft beats google when you look at their video chatting apps. Microsoft uses Skype, while Google uses Google Hangouts. Skype is much more widely used, and is integrated much more smoothly into other programs. Many PC Gamers rely on Skype to communicate with friends wile playing online games. The only thing I have really ever seen Google hangouts used for is students working on a project together, but Skype can do that just as easily as well. Skype has a much more reliable name to it, and people tend use it much more often.

  27. 1. One thing that is better about Google Apps than Microsoft Office is that in a Google Doc you can use Google Scholar and it will automatically cite your sources for you in one of three formats, which is very helpful for things like essays and research papers.

    2. One thing that is better about Microsoft Office than Google Apps is that Microsoft has Sway, which gives you a different way to present information over Powerpoint or Slides, and Google doesn’t really have a direct competitor.

  29. 1. In Google Apps there is a certain function that comes with google drive and documents. You can set the document to suggesting which makes it so that everyone the document is shared with is able to leave comments and suggestions to help improve the paper. Microsoft does not have this.

    2. Microsoft Outlook comes with a great feature that makes it so that Outlook is able to manage your Google apps. You are able to manage your mail, contacts, calendar events, notes, and tasks all from your Outlook account. How very convenient.

  30. 1. Google sheets, docs and forms have a script editor option that Microsoft apps do not have. You can create custom charts and commands using javascript.

    2. Microsoft has an app called Sway which has over 17 million cells which is nothing compared to googles 400 thousand cells.

  31. 1. I can think of multiple features that are unique to google that I think can be very useful such as suggesting changes in someone else's documents, use Google search inside of documents and presentations, send email from different email addresses, double up on security, mute all incoming emails, print while traveling, scan receipts with a phone app, and even 15 person conference call.

    2. However, there is just as many for Microsoft: select similar formatting, clipboard panel, translate function, kerning, SmartArt, insert quick parts, automatic hyphenation, watermark your pages, macros, insert index, combine documents, document inspector, and also customize ribbon.

  32. 1. One area Google wins against microsoft is in the online storage. Google Drive gives it's users 15gb foe free while OneDrive only has 5gb for free.

    2. One area Microsoft wins is in AI-Assistance. Office 365 has Cortana integrated into it unlike google which has no AI at all.

  33. 1. Google Apps is the winner when it comes to ease of information. Google Apps is based online, that’s no secret. Because Google Apps is embedded into the browser, it allows the user to do many things that they cannot do in Microsoft Office. For example, there is a dictionary tool across all Google Apps products. Microsoft has a similar dictionary in Word but it is nowhere near as extensive. You are also able to search the web without opening a new tab, as the browser is simple placed to the side of the screen. This is extremely helpful when the user is doing research and needs to look something up quickly. It also enables the user to add photos and videos from the Internet by simply inserting the URL, something that Microsoft is not yet able to do because it is not a browser-based software.

    2. One feature that Microsoft Office has over Google Drive is their application known as “Access.” Access is a database tool that allows the user to build their own databases through tables and the relationships between them. Access can then sort the data based on queries made by the user. The pure computational abilities of Access make it an extremely powerful application for a business to use, especially is the business is centered around customer service (as Access can be used to store large quantities of customer information). At this point in time, Google Apps does not have a comparable application for its users.

  34. 1) Microsoft is Winner (ding ding ding). As mentioned in Battle of the Mobile Office Suites: Microsoft Office vs. Google Docs "Right off the bat, Microsoft's offering includes some excellent templates for personal budgets, calculating credit card payoffs, managing college courses, and organizing roommate utilities among many others." this shows how excel can be used by anyone like students to organize their courses, in offices to calculate payoffs and much more!

    2) Google is a winner. As mentioned in the same article "Google Docs has some best-in-class collaborative editing which not only allows users to simultaneously make changes on any client, but you can also make suggestions or soft edits without permanently changing the document until the owner approves." this shows how you can comment on someones work , give them tips on how to improve their piece, and you can also edit at the same time given the owner permission, saving a lot of time if you are doing project.
