10. Big Tech

Big tech companies in the news

Check out the links below and critically think:

1. How are these companies merging together to help consumers navigate between their systems? (How are they alike?)

2. How are they differentiating themselves to rise above their competition? (How are they different?)

  1. 1. Apple and Microsoft used to be mortal enemies with their Macs and PCs being at the forefront of every computer competition argument. Now since it's not about the operating system and third party apps run on both Macs and PCs, it doesn't really matter anymore. They run the same apps and work about the same, it all just comes down to personal preference in which system people choose so both Apple and Microsoft work to offer the same programs and features as their competitor.

    2. At one point both companies needed to differentiate themselves from their competitor to stand out, with pre packaged programs determining what system consumers would buy. Now they are nearly identical in standard features people want with a few exceptions. Macs are superior in terms video and sound editing as they offer native programs to assist consumers. PCs are superior for computer gaming as Windows has more customization and better support from third party game sellers and clients(ie Steam).

    1. 1 Both Apple and Windows had a successful start in the world and their computer and laptop had made people excited for more of their products with chrome browser. The Chrome browser is available on all operating systems.

2.How they are different is that Apple ipad pro has greater graphics and the ipad pro is lighter and the display has a 5.6 million pixels then the pc. The windows 10 lets you write on web
pages and has a reading view. It wouldn't let chrome or firefox as the default page for web sites and it will be harder to put Firefox in Windows 10. There would be a tutorial video to help put in Firefox in Windows 10 .

    1. I have changed what I wrote earlier:

      1) They are alike because they all are obviously companies that were built off of technology.Apple comes out with smart phones and tablets.Microsoft, well a bunch of things computers, xbox etc.Google is a company and also a very well known search engine nobody says "Bing This" or somewhat common "Search This" but most of the majority will say "Google It" or "Google This" oh and they all like money,I like money.

      2) They are different because, they were originally built off of different things like Apple was built off on Ipad mostly. Now of course Iphones and somewhat mac. They were built off mobile touchscreen technology.Windows difference is they started by the PCs now they have awesome phones and more.Google is a search engine they are all very different.More people prefer PC over Mac so Apple is continuing to improve it for gaming abilities and a lot more.PC is the machine to game on more than 200 million people have purchased a Windows PC.Some Macs of course can be switched to Windows, but its not really the same as a real PC.Google had to work off computers since its a online search engine and also has Gmail,Google +, Google docs, slides, sites, etc. So in a way they all work together but they are all competitors.

    1. This is my updated version of the above:

      1. The companies are merging together by moving their software's (Apple Music and Cortona) to other devices such as iPhone and Android. On my Windows 10 computer, there is a devices app. There was a section for iPhone and when I clicked on it, it said that Cortona was coming soon to iPhone. Boot camp is a great example because this allows computers to go cross-platform. The companies are making cross-platform apps to help there customers choose which ever device suits them best.

      2. Despite the similarities and teamwork, the two companies are very different. Microsoft has made Microsoft Office 365 which can go cross-platform so you can save your files on your Mac/PC. Apple is making Apple Music so that people can buy a Mac and not a PC. They both are making new software to get people to buy their products as well as trying to give people more freedom to which device they want.

  5. 1) I think that many of the companies involved in the tech industry are working progressively towards compatibility and integration with each other's products. The designers, developers, and manufacturers are creating products that can run and perform across all platforms and are compatible with the other technologies. Google seems to be taking another approach where they are entering a lot of industries. This can work out because with everything under one big umbrella, everything will be compatible and their would be seamless cooperation between everything a person needs such as cars, housing, and computing devices.

    2) For the Edge vs. Chrome article I feel that the encouragement for the user to use Microsoft's new browser is something I have never seen, although it seems to be a little monopolistic, all it is is a new approach to self advertising within their own product just as any other company would advertise themselves with direct ads in their systems. In my own opinion I think that Microsoft and Google are the more progressive companies out of the big three because there are very little ways that Apple has shown integration with other platforms and devices while Google and Microsoft are working with a lot of companies to create the best products possible, there is also Google X which is a whole division of Google dedicated to developing technologies that were science fiction only a few decades ago. I do not think that the OS wars are over but they are simply de-escalating because the two tech giants have learned to coexist with each other. As I have said before I take the Google entering and dominating multiple markets as a good thing because before you would have to create dozens of accounts for all of these services while now it is all can be under only a few accounts where there is very little password memorization. There is a similar situation in smart home electronics and mobile devices but eventually it will all be connected under a single interface.

  6. 1. These three companies are incredibly popular because of their breakthroughs in technology. Google was so popular because of its search engine/web browser, Microsoft is popular because of their PCs and Apple is popular because of their portable iPods, iPads, and iPhones. To be more like Apple Microsoft has started making Tablets and phones, and to be more like google Microsoft made "Microsoft Edge," their own web browser. Google has also made their own phone, and making laptops and PCs based around their web browser Google Chrome.

    2. Microsoft and Apple have had lost of competition in their past, both of them competing to create a better PC. And Google's line of laptops and computers are not nearly as popular as Microsoft's or Apple's. However Google seems to be besting both Microsoft and Apple in its web browser "Google Chrome," "Safari"(Apple's web browser) and "Microsoft Edge" are not as popular.

  7. 1.) Companies are slowly reforming their software to use compatibly with other companies'. Each company is making their software similar to each other because they are realizing what is successful with consumers. Almost every company has "their" version of whatever is the "next big thing." Apple had their Siri, and Windows had their tablet/laptop hybrid. Before too long, Microsoft comes out with Cortana, a Siri clone. And Apple just recently came out with THEIR laptop/tablet hybrid. Google has also come out with a Laptop that works similar in the interface as other laptops. I feel most companies are too scared to try something new, and are just recycling the same old ideas and seeing what sells. It's no longer about revolutionizing technology, it's about big buckz babyyyy.

2.) Google's products I feel are made to be super simple for anybody to use, Apple is more for the average consumer/media creator (music, video, etc). Microsoft is made for the more advanced side of consumers, and slightly not as user friendly as other companies.

Microsoft has a more bendable price range. They have tons of products for people with different incomes, and range in how much money you wanna spend. Apple is the most expensive, where they trade somewhat okay quality for super high prices. Because of their mainstream popularity, Apple can get away with raising the prices so that when the next IPhone hits in a year, they make tons of money. Finally, Google has some of the cheapest hardware for what you're getting. Google products work wonderfully and don't cost as much as computers from any other big company out there. That is probably the main reason for their raising popularity, as many people and schools don't have the money to buy "high-end" computers like the ones from Apple.

  8. 1. The article I read was based on Macs vs PC and which one over rules the other. Mac's and PC's are both completely different computers, but are also alike in a way. Both of the computers can usually do the same things, except one of them does it better. From what I saw from this article Macs were more popular in the 2000s, the macs were new and "hip". "Back when I was a kid in the late 1990s, most everyone I knew had a Windows 95 PC, myself included." From this article it stated that back in the 90's the only real computer that worked was the Windows PC, later in the 90s towards the 2000's is when Mac came in and started getting more popular. Now, the companies are starting to merge and admit there differences. Near the end of this article there starting to say that both of the computers can run near the same things. Its really just the choice of the buyer and his preferable operating system now.

    2. Like I said before there's lots of similarity's and differences between the Mac (Apple) and the PC (Windows). For one Mac's can run the same operating system as windows and easily have both options available, accept with Windows computers or PC's its much harder to transfer the systems over, although its possible you have to completely over ride the computer, for you have to have a hard drive for both the windows and mac OS operating system. For gaming, the windows computers are usually much better then the macs. Mac's can't run a lot of the games windows can, and PC's are more built especially for gaming, but for macs they lack the customization part that PC's have. Both of the operating systems have there own special "abilities".

  9. 1) Alot of today's big technology corporations and companies are trying to work together to make one miraculous breakthrough with a new laptop or tablet or smart phone. They're attempting to make their devices compatible across many devices and softwares. Google's biggest success right now would be the Google Chromebook. Since so many chromebooks are being used in schools and homes, sharing with others is the easiest it's probably ever been.

    2) Contrary to my answer in the previous question, other companies are making there systems so different from others that if you wanted to share something with others, one of you would have to switch. It's kind of a forcing switch but it's kind of a good idea. But this could backfire on the companies. Let's say Google and Microsoft work together to make their systems more compatible. Those users would be able to exchange files, pictures, videos, etc. Other users such as Apple users would have to find other means of sharing or they would have to switch to Google or Microsoft. Or if Apple could somehow convince those Google/Microsoft users to switch, that would be a huge rise in sales for them. Or, again, they could lose their consumers to rival companies.

  10. Mac and PC are a lot like Play station to Xbox
Yes They have there differences and likeness, Mac has a lot of games are just for mac only a lot like PlayStation
both are considered newer and better but a lot of people still want to use non Mac.
Mean while PC is a lot like the family dog everybody knows and loves him well but Hes old and dying

    1.but to the facts :
PC is said to be old complicated and annoying ( Cortana, touch screen, and windows 10)

MAC is said to be the new and hip kind of computer that "Work" ( not many annoyances such as Cortana and Touch screens)

actually a metric crap ton of iPhone have been sold by mac and are making profit meanwhile Android users are 1/5 people that i find interesting cause i rarely hear much about people coming in for a broken android while iPhone seem to constantly break.
there is alot of differences but PC is MASTURERACE

  11. 1)They are alike because they have a made a voice thingy (Cortana,Siri,Google Now) and they have all made a web browser (Google Chrome, Safari, and Mircosoft Edge) they have all also made phones(Windows Phones, Androids, iPhones)
2)Apple is differenting because they are making crap phones but making it more slim and bigger, Mircosoft is differenting from their competiors by trying to convince people that the Mircosoft edge is better than chrome. Google is differenting from their competiors by making their phones strong and make it so they don't crack as easy as other phones

  12. 1) These Companies are very popular because of the new innovative technology like the iPad and nexus 7.Google is really popular because of YouTube, is a awesome site because you can watch videos of other peoples life any their drama. What makes apple so popular is because of there iPad's,iPhone's,and iPod's.Google became the Internet’s biggest company by dominating what has become the web’s biggest market segment.Microsoft's claims that the Surface Book is twice as fast as a Mac-book Pro.Apple has updated the entire Mac family, bringing a new Retina 4K display to the 21.5-inch Mac for the first time and the Retina 5K display to every 27-inch Mac. The updated macs also feature more powerful processors and graphics

    2) Microsoft and apple are different first is there operating system.Second is there devices, apple makes things like the iphone and the ipad.Microsoft has windows 10 and apple has the operation system OS X El Capitan.Windows is really good for sertain thing when apple is better for other things.

    ReplyDelete
  13. 1) Mac and PC are merging together because Microsoft is making sure that there are office apps and services available for the IPhone AND Android. And its good that they are expanding their apps, not only within their own company but letting other rival companies use it too, and as an example Apple is going to bring their new Apple Music to Android so whichever device you may choose you can still enjoy some great features on it.

    2) Even though im not a big fan of Apple products they are really upping their game in the new retina display. They are bringing the brilliant 4k display to the 21.5 inch screen iMac and Apple is making stronger processors, graphics, and the iMac has a new and improved storage options and with the high performance fusion drive more affordable. So comparing to the new models of computers iMac has a really good display that will convince them to buy their product

  14. 1) The Window side and the Apple OS side are more alike but they just have a different layout. The article I read said that the operating system war is over cause they “both fill a niche”. Pretty much saying that they are both the same. In the same article it shows a picture of a guy struggling to build his car. He’s representing the Windows. The other guy however just has a power button to turn on his car. He’s representing Apple. Apple just has a more simple playstyle and pretty much meant for old folks cause of its simple stuff. The Window guy is showing the hard effort you have to put in your PC. PC’s are mostly best for non office stuff or in office stuff, but kids use PC’s as a gaming platform. You’ll never see a kid playing CS:GO on ultra with mods on a Mac. Cause the Mac is not really much customizable. Alrighty before I get to roast them more let's just switch to the Search engines. Chrome, a lot of people use it cause it's common in the PC universe. I’m pretty sure you all heard of Microsoft Edge. It’s the new Windows 10 search engine. They are trying to use that as the Windows search engine cause of Cortana. Apple in the other hand has Safari. Safari come commonly with the Mac products. But most people just use it to download Chrome. In one of the articles it says that Edge is trying to convince people to use it more, but people don’t really trust it cause it’s still in Beta. In my opinion I would just stick with Chrome untill Chrome gets dethroned. Also google is another VERY common use.

    2) These products are very different in my opinion is because of customization wise. Like in PC you can have QUAD graphics and i7 chips. On a Mac however. You could only get what you bought with it. I don’t really think you could build a Mac. But PC can be fully custom. In my opinion I would recommend the PC cause of all the cool tech you can get also more games.

  15. 2)Apple is differenting because they are making crap phones but making it more slim and bigger, Mircosoft is differenting from their competiors by making Cortana to fit in with other phoness and they make stong phones aswell my friend shot his with a BB gun and it didnt crack they also have a feature where u swipe to the left it shows you all the apps. Google is differenting from their competiors by making their phones strong and make it so they don't crack as easy as other phones

  16. 1. The way the big three are helping consumers navigate through there systems is by making applications and providing it in competitors app stores Ex:Apple providing apple music to android and Windows providing all of there office apps to android, and apple and allowing them to sync together. Also third party applications also help connect the systems together.
    2. The way apple differentiates its self from windows is by making a good looking software and good looking hardware while windows makes good computers that are more in depth and that you can tinker with more and different technology companies use there software so there is alot of options, and chrome is very simple very affordable but for most of its fuctions needs to be connected to the internet.

  18. 1.) The three companies are working together in various ways to improve the compatibility between their devices, especially since with certain programs, such as Spotify to easily sync files and other things like that between devices. They also work together in such ways like with how, for example, you can get a computer from one and get another search engine on it. They are also using each other’s techs, like how with Windows 10 they came out with Cortana, which mimics Apple’s Siri in that you can give voice commands and it will do that. Apple also mimicked the tablet/laptop device after Windows came out.
2.) As a difference between the companies, Windows are typically more customizable compared to Macs, as you can build your own computer easily with Windows, but with Macs usually you get what you get and can’t do a whole lot with it.

  19. 1. The major companies of Google, Bing and Yahoo have similar searches as they both use similar algorithms for deciding the results a person wants to see. They also all have simplistic designs that allow for the user to easily know what to do. Finally, they all have offshoots to news, weather and other features that are useful.

    2. However, they differentiate as Google has the “I’m Feeling Lucky” feature that takes you straight to the first result. Yahoo and Bing do not have these features. Also, Google has apps like Drive that allow you to store documents while Bing and Yahoo miss these features

    ReplyDelete
  20. 1. These companies are starting to do many similar things. One of the major things is their ability to navigate by talking. Google has Google Now, Microsoft has Cortana, and Apple has Siri. All of these are very similar, and allow you to navigate the device with your voice. Another thing that is similar between these companies is cloud storage. Apple has iCloud, and Microsoft has OneDrive, which both allow documents and files to be stored in the cloud.

    2. These companies also do many things differently, however. For instance, Windows and Android devices are, for the most part, all about customization, while Apple devices are pretty much shut down, which makes it simpler to use but also not as customizable. Also, Apple devices are all about sleek and simple good-looking design, but Windows and Android devices are more about functionality and specs.

  21. 1. Apple and Microsoft are becoming a lot alike in the way that the companies seem to be trying to please their current users and upgrade and improve their systems instead of competing to see who is better. It's similar in the mobile market, Apple and Google are have both dominated the mobile market and run a lot of the same apps and programs.

    2. The main differences in companies like Microsoft and Apple are there services. Services like music using, cloud services and other programs. This is why Google invests so much money and resources into the google chrome browser, It works on both Mac and PC, not one version better than the other.

  22. 1.The mac and the pc both have such engines between them like games, and also very popular between lots of people and I believe that everyone in us has in common in pc and mc and everyone uses it both of this work, playing games, music, gaming and watching video's.

    2. Mac use apple Os X EL capitan and the pc using the windows 10 operating system. Now apple has little software in the produces for apple more in a way versatile to it. Now apple has their now produces which is Iphones and Microsoft windows and their known android mobile devices.

    ReplyDelete
  23. 1.) they are merging them together by using edge but they still let you switch to chrome but they recommend that you stay with edge because they think it is better than chrome (in my opinion it is not as good as chrome). they are trying to implement more things and upgrade their search engines. if i had to i would use edge but probably not use it instead of chrome

2.) windows is making way different things than mac and everyone else by releasing windows 10. mac is good but the hardware is the only thing that makes it good (in my opinion). google is good because it lets you search things and it runs fairly smooth. although most people don't like it edge looks like it works amazing but it has a few minor errors that could be fixed (but that comes with all new things).

  24. 1. The kind of OS you ran used to be really important, so naturally the two biggest makers of computers and OS systems were at odds. Now that the focus has shifted more to the apps, the system you use to access them is becoming less important, since both Microsoft and Apple have desktops, laptops, smart phones, and other equipment, and can run the same apps.
    2. Windows tend to be more welcome to gaming and customization, yet are also welcoming of viruses, and Macs tend to be faster and run more art-programs. My dad swears by his Mac as the only thing he uses for Maya, as well as a few other programs he needs for his work.

    ReplyDelete
  25. 1. Microsoft and Apple are similar and yet different at the same time. They both push their technology to the limits to rival each other, but they do sometimes work together. On almost every single OSX machine there is a app that is called bootcamp. In bootcamp OSX machines can have windows installed onto their machines. Microsoft on the other hand helps Apple by making applications for Apple like word or office.

    2. Microsoft and Apple are different as they both also go into different paths. Microsoft focuses on a lot of gaming as with their Pcs' and the Xbox while Apple seems to not worry as much with gaming. With Apple they have also been focusing on Tv streaming with the Apple Tv while Microsoft haven't touched Tv streaming. Another thing Microsoft seems to be focusing on is virtual reality. Recently Microsoft announced the Hololens which is virtual reality and holograms. In the end Microsoft and Apple both make computers, but delve in different areas of technology.

  27. 1. Apple and Microsoft have their likenesses. Examples such as both have their own system that once you speak to is gives feed back known as Siri for Apple and Cortana for Windows. Each have similar computers with dual compatibility. (Some Apple programs work on windows and vise versa.)
    2. Apple has some of it's own features that Windows doesn't. Apple has some programs not available to windows such as iMove, Photo Booth, etc. Apple also has google docs. However google docs can be used on Windows, it's Apple's way of people collaborating together one the same document or power point or whatever. Windows has it's own applications as well, such as Snipping Tool. Windows has Microsoft Office, how ever it is more advance in tools, it can only be worked on alone. Also Windows operation system is much more compatible with gaming compared to Apples operating system.

  28. 1.) Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome are arguably the best web browsers out there. They are both extremely fast, and have anything that you could need to browse the web with. We all know about Google Chrome already, it has been out for years, and it is the world's most popular web browser. Microsoft Edge, however, is a totally new browser for Windows 10. When directly compared, there are actually a lot of similarities, including their simplicity, speed, and overall ease of use. It can be difficult to decide which browser is better.

2.) These two browsers also have quite a few differences. Microsoft Edge has quite a few newer features, such as Cortana, the Microsoft version of Siri, as well as the ability mark up web pages and take notes anywhere. Edge seems to be more fit for touchscreen oriented machines like tablets and touchscreen computers, wile Chrome is more catered regular keyboard and mouse computers. Microsoft Edge seems to be simpler, making touchscreens more user friendly, wile Chrome has more features, but can be dffucult to accomplish without the use of a regular. mouse

  29. 1.)The companies want to merge because there are always people switching between the devices and having trouble with losing progress in games and images. If they do a good job of merging and working together the could each have increased value and traffic. Im looking forward to seeing new or inovative things coming out of them merging.
2.)One difference between the companies is that it seems as though pc is used more as a personal device that can be tinkered with and personalized.Where as the mac is more of a company favored and easy to share and collaberate on with coworkers. And its less flexible to tinker with

    ReplyDelete
  30. 1. PC’s and MAC are, generally speaking, the same thing, they have a screen, you can surf the web, and game. Both Companies are the same thing with little to no difference. It says it all here, “Maybe you like Instagram on IPhone better than Instagram on Android, but Instagram is still Instagram”. If that’s the case then it just all depends on personal preference.
    2. Mac and PC’s have been in a “forever” feud with each other with their products, that at this point I don’t think that there is a difference, besides it’s stated here, “Let them serve you, the way that you want”, it all comes back to personal preference.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 1. All of the systems are able to do the exact same thing, run programs. They both can play games, listen to music, etc. They are combined this way between apps like Spotify and Microsoft Office. You can share music and notes between platforms which is really convenient. They are also all alike because the can both use browsers like Google chrome, even though windows doesn't want you to by prompting to try the new edge.

    2. Just because they are similar in some ways doesn't mean that they wont try to stay ahead of the game. For instance, Windows has touchscreen, Cortana, and windows management were as Apple OS excels at things like performance, stability, and iphone superpowers. They both are good at there own things. Even though they both want to be ahead of the other, they are both just operating systems that share a lot in common. They give you the option to choose which system you want since they both share similar programs and browsers like Google chrome. Imagine what it would be like if they were ever able to work together as one company.

  32. 1. First of all, each of the devices mainly consist of the same apps and such, which are all linked, no matter which one device you have. For example, with instagram you can still talk to people who also have instagram, no matter which device they are using it on. And also each device have about the same popular apps, none are excluded to one device or anything like that. Also, apple and windows are working together to make the surface book in the fight against google, which benefits both of them.

    2. Each company is doing a lot to stand out against their rival. Microsoft is force suggesting their web browser to users when they try to change, almost eliminating firefox as an option, apple is supposedly having better quality, and google has more than 50% of users using their search. When it comes to mac vs pc mac is supposed to have better things, but pc is supposed to have more. Also when it comes to phones people claim that Android is less smooth/ user-friendly than apple and windows has less. In my opinion it seems google and apple are in the lead with their current projects and Android and Microsoft less so .

  33. 1. All 3 companies have there differences that would b a very long topic to talk about about but they are all the same in some way. As most people know of now there is a voice recognizer that would help them navigate though there device. Apple has Siri, Google has Google now, and Microsoft has Cortana. All of these are wonderful tools to use but each of them have there bugs, patches, updates, and it’s mostly up to the User between which is a better tool to use.
    2. Out of all 3 companies, There isnt much that’s a like on the outside. However there is a very large interneral difference. With apple there is a completly new interface every large update, There interface is easier to navigate through every time. With google, They seem to make the same thing as everyone else does like a name for there sotware. Dont get me wrong, all of them are wonderful options but they all need equal fixes. Microsoft is thinking a lot like Apple where they try to make there interface easier to navigate but microsoft tries to make it more superior by adding gamer ideas in. After all, They did make Halo. I personally however don’t have a preference, I have ben through all of them and I recommend none to be honest, Its up to what your using it for. Business owner? Editor? Non-Gamer? All for Apple! Love playing games? Want to build awesome rigs that are massive and have a wonderful component list? Go for Pc! Are you in school and need something for research and to help you in school? Go for Google! As I said, It’s really up to personal preference.

  34. 1. Apple, Microsoft, and Google are all companies with their own computer systems. Although a Google Chrome is a bit different, with a completely difference private system, iMac (Apple) and Windows (Microsoft) computers are generally similar. They are both able to support difference browsing systems and programs such as Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Photoshop CS5, Steam, and more. They also support programs like Dropbox that can link your files throughout difference devices through Cloud. Another thing that these three companies do is collect your information. Apple specifically tracks your searches to suit ads to your interests and collects certain information such as your name, contacts, and songs in your music library, and send them to Apple servers using encrypted protocols. Google collects anything from name, email address, telephone number, credit card (if you enter it), details on how you use Google’s services, how you interact with other websites that use AdWords and other Google technologies, your device, and even search queries. Microsoft also does a good job comprehensively spelling out what information it collects: name and contact data, credentials, demographic data, payment data, and more. Don't believe that Microsoft doesn’t read your email because the privacy policy states very clearly that it does.

    2. As much as they'd like to disagree, these companies are becoming more and more similar to one another. While their approaches and economic models differ, the near future that Apple, Google, and Microsoft perceive is pretty similar. Ask any of them about the smartphone of tomorrow and you’ll get an answer that involves a grid of icons, an app store, a great display and camera, and broadly the same industrial design proportions and philosophy. This isn’t limited to just devices either, as Apple Music, Google Music, and Microsoft Groove are all similar. Apple may used to think that they were completely original, but it is copied at least as often as it copies. Apple keeps trying to come out with more and more devices, with the iPhone, iPod, iPad, and iWatch growing in popularity. Google also has it's own smartphone that is particularly unique compared to other company's layouts.

    1. They are working together to develop better technology in there systems and there will work together in make our technology better.

    2. As the difference between the companies is that Windows are typically more customization in windows compared to Mac you can build your own computer easily like Windows but with Macs users you get what you want on it.

  36. 1.Mac and Windows both have had successful start up business and have laptop and phones that are used for game, music, work and the search engine an they both fill a niche. They both have work hard are to make their company a big impact on helping people and change the way people do things now.

2.Mac use Apple OS X EL captain and PC use windows 10 operating system. Apple as a little less software but windows pc has way more versatile to it. Apple has an iPhone and window has android for their mobile devices

  37. 1. The three companies are merging together by using similar, if not the same, software. For example, Google has made its services available on any device, and Microsoft is trying to make a new, better browser. Also, all three companies are starting to create similar, yet competing products. Microsoft is coming out with its first, actual laptop, the Surface Pro 4, since Google and Apple already have made laptops. All three companies also make phones, and tablets.

    2. The three companies are different in their ideas being incorporated into their products. Microsoft has recently come out with a new operating system that tries to make everything simpler, even adding in Cortana. Apple has gone in the route of focusing more on phones, coming out with new iPhones very often. Google is just making everything it does available everywhere. Whether you have a Mac or a PC, Google can still be used on them. This cannot be said for some Microsoft and Apple features.

  38. 1. The gap between Mac and PC is gradually shrinking. Many people still feed passionately about the subject but the actual devices themselves are becoming less and less distinguished from each other. The largest difference between the two used to be the operating system which makes sense as it would determine how the computer would run. However, now Apple is capable of running multiple versions of Windows operating systems. Because the OS is no longer a large concern, people are less bound to the device that they choose as they can customize it how they want. Another key thing that is changing the landscape of the Mac/PC debate are third-party applications. If you listen to a majority of your music through Pandora, it doesn’t matter if your computer uses iTunes or Google Music. Most major applications are available on both Apple and Microsoft platforms. With the invention of the cloud both Macs and PCs have had to make adjustments to ensure that their devices are compatible.
    2. The differences between Mac and PC mainly come down to marketing and customization. Apple likes to present their products as the new and hip way to compute. Microsoft likes to highlight the fact that their products are workhorses. They both offer similar services but present them differently in order to target a specific audience. The products are similar internally but are still quite different externally. For example, iPhones have maintained their sleek one button design (the Home button, I know that there are technically other buttons on the phone as well) while Androids have the Task Manager button and Back button in addition to the traditional Home button. It has largely become a matter of user preference which company to purchase from. My best advice for anyone in the market for one of these products would be to try both out before you settle on one.

  39. 1. These companies are all starting to make their devices more compatible with other devices out there mainly with certain programs on the device. They seem to want to make everything they are making run across every platform like how Microsoft is working to allow an app for Cortana on other phones than just their Androids. They really want to make their devices do the same thing and run the same program, but have a different interface that some people like and some people don't like.

    2. The real difference they have with each other is only the interface and how it is customized to their liking. Some people like iphones better than androids because they may find that the interface and buttons are easier to use. That may be the reason too, if one is easier to use for someone they will most likely choose that over something they think is harder to use. So in the end it always comes down to personal preference as the deciding factor for whether or not someone will buy a device which is what the companies go for since they both target a specific audience.

  40. 1.) Mac and Pc have been in a war for the better computer for a while, personally i favor PC but mac has its advantages, far very few and far seen to to be honest, but anyways, if they want to make an OS together, they will have to go with the windows interface.
2.) The main difference is how they work, apple has its own file system and interfaces, while windows has its own, far Superior file system and interface.

  41. 1: All of the companies are making their devices able to connect to other companies programs, like iPhone being able to access google drive, or Android having the Google Play store. I think that Android and Apple will be forever rivals, but they both use google for much of their devices, so the can't be all that different.
2: Apple is making their devices smarter and smarter, acting as a personal assistant. Google and Amazon are getting their hands in everything that they can, making their programs as widespread and easily accessible as possible. This is what made them rise to the top of the app world so quickly.

  45. 1) well first off is that mac and pc have been fighting for the spotlight for ages on who has the better operating system... pc came out with the first computer then there was the mac then pc came out with the first tablet then mac came out with the first ipad and the ipod.
    2) mac and pc are different because its really hard to get a virus on a mac unlike pc plus mac is very sharp and new age.. mac is more for business purposes like for big programs that take up a lot of space like garageband or photoshop.

  46. 1. The companies are similar because they all have software similar to each other. They are even making phones. I'm talking about apple and android.

2The two also have their own differences that make one better than the other. For example, apple has their own operating system called mac. android has a more complicated operating system that make them both faster and gives it a wider range of things to do.
