8. Mobile Phones 2014

Massive Confusion?

1. Pick a popular phone model that you know the LEAST about. List:
          1. Model
          2. Manufacturer/maker
          3. Operating system
          4. Service Carrier Options (Yep all of them)

2. Describe the best or coolest features of this phone.  After learning about it.  Would you ever consider getting it?  Why?

3. Look at the infographics link. Gasp! Open up a few of the infographics.  Discover some fact that surprised you and share it.

4.  What phone would you want if you could have any phone?

5.  What phone do you have now?

I'm exhausted just thinking about all this!

READ THIS:  The links above are a guide.  There are NEWER and OLDER phones than listed in the links.  Feel free to do your own independent research! Just make sure it's a somewhat popular phone available in Arizona!

No repeats!  There are way too many phones out there!  So NO CREDIT will be given for repeats!  Read the posts of the people before you when picking your phone choice.

    2. The screen resolution is sharp, it has a good processor and plenty of RAM, and it's fairly light for the size.

    3. The iPhone 6 Plus can get up to almost $1000? What?

    4. If I could have any phone, it would probably have to be a Windows phone; Microsoft has me with the whole "Cortana" thing, and I'd like to see the new Windows operating system on a platform where it WORKS PROPERLY.

    5. A home phone. I do not own a phone! I have asked my parents this question a LOT, but the answer always comes back the same; I need to pay for the plan myself.

2.It has a very good front and back camera. It seems like half of the main purpose of the phone is for taking pictures. The back camera has two LED flash. This is a amazing phone for pictures. I would buy this phone but the only flaw to me is it does not have 4G. One other thing is the Quad core and 1 GB of RAM. It runs very smoothly.

3.There has been a increase in mobile open rates by 300% from 2010 to 2012!!!!!!!!

4.I would want the LG G3 for its good camera and high processing power with a price as low as 99.99$

    d. The HTC Desire 610 currently runs on Android 4.4

    2. The coolest feature, in my opinion, is the wireless charging feature and of course I would this phone because my current phone can't even send a picture to someone so turning down a smartphone is like a homeless man turning down a sandwhich because he doesn't like cheese.

    3. I learned that desktops went down by 5.5% in use I also thought that a 27.8% increase in smartphones would have been bigger than that.

    4. I would want the new or some of the newer versions of the i-phone.

    5. I currently have the Samsung Intensity 2.

I would consider buying this phone because I enjoy taking pictures, but I usually unable to take some that I want to with, motion blur and lighting issues.

I'd consider getting it. Lot's of people use IPhones, but I haven't really looked at any other phones on the market. Many people say there are better choices than the IPhone. But with the recent bending with the IPhone 6, I wouldn't want to get it.

3.) Couldn't log in through Twitter due to an Error that persists every time I try. Out of a glimpse of one, it says Windows Phones are going down in demographic.

      2. The most popular feature of the Galaxy S5 is its extreme durability. Due to a multitude of features this phone has become one of the longest lasting ones on the market. The phone is composed mainly of plastic making it impossible to shatter as may other phones do. It is also one of the few devices with complete water and dust resistance allowing it to sit under 3 feet of water for around half an hour before having any effect and even after so, the damage isn't at all marginal.

      3. I found it both interesting and somewhat disturbing that use of mobile phones to view "adult" shows an extremely high peak at around 12AM every day. Considering most people are at work or school during this time this is quite odd.

      4. If I could have any phone I would most likely go with the HTC One M8 primarily for it's large data storage as well as processing capabilities.

Dustproof and water-resistant, the Galaxy S5 Active has a rugged design that’s engineered for outdoor activities. I would consider getting this phone if i was using AT&T instead of verizon. It has better specs. Compared to my phone.

You won't have to spend extra money on a phone case with this phone! I would actually consider getting one of these!

2.) The coolest feature of the Nexus 5 is the fact that it comes with stock Android. This means that it doesn't have a skin over Android like the Galaxy S5 or other Android phones. This makes the phone run faster and get updates from Android much quicker than on other devices. Also, Android is a beautiful interface and very customizeable. Another awesome feature is the build of the phone, its sleek and looks awesome. Also, it has a very low price point at about $250-400 dollars compared to 700 for most other high end smartphones. Yes I would definitely consider buying this phone.

honestly. It has about 13.7 hours of battery while playing video on full brightness. This works for me because I need a lot of battery life. I probably won't get this phone, though, because I like the Iphone too much. I very much enjoy apple's smartphones.

3:86 percent of people use their phones while watching tv..... WHY????

    1. 2) the phone has a amazing camera. The windows set up for phones has always interest me. I really think the layout is really organized. The phone screen is all so sensitive so you can use it with gloves on for the cold days. Nokia Lumia 520 also has a radio built in. I think that handy and not very conman. Windows is really trying to improve smart phones.
      3) 89% of people use there smart hones while watching T.V Most web pages load in 6 seconds or less.People send 2.7 hours on there mobile phones, more than eating and bathing. 250 million android users. 9 trillion text messages were tent in 2011. Woman 35 to 45 are the most sociable on there mobile devices. People use there mobile phones for over all gaming.
      4) If I could have any phone I'd have the Samsung Galaxy 5 or the most advanced one. I love Samsung set up and I just recently switch to LG and I miss it. Plus as they say Samsung the next big thing.

  41. 1. The Xperia T3 was created by Sony, and currently runs on the Android operating system Kit Kat. The T3 is currently carried by T-Mobile.

    2. Some interesting features the T3 provides are a large, multi-touch screen, an 8gb internal memory, and around seventy-five hours of battery life in average use. Personally, I wouldn't consider getting the Xperia T3 because I prefer slide phones that don't have the capability to run complex apps on it. I only use a phone while talking, and rarely for music. A phone isn't something you should become overly attached too.

    3. It is interesting that some people consider phones more valuable than personal computers, and that in two years 80% of the population is supposed to have mobile phones if the trend continues. With the ability to carry around something as powerful a your home computer, you would still expect people to prefer larger utilities over smaller handheld phones.

    4. If I could have any phone currently available, I still would keep my current phone. It isn't perfect, but it accomplishes what I need it to do, call or text. Its survived many hits, and still runs without problem.

    5. I currently have a Samsung Brightside. Its lightweight, perfect for calling and texting, and has a good speaker. It can accomplish any task a phone would need to, and doesn't have any features that would cause you to overuse it.

    3. I was surprised to learn that in the U.S, we use our smartphones more at home than anywhere else.

  43. 1.) A phone model that I decided to look at was the Pantech Discover. It was, as in the name, made by Pantech. It’s operating system is Android OS, v4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
2.) There are a few features on this phone that seem pretty interesting, like the photo/video editor on it, that seems like it would be interesting and useful in case someone has need of one, like say for an assignment in this class, for example. I think I would consider getting it because it seems a lot better than my current phone, but I would only really get a new phone if the one I have now is broken beyond use or something like that.
3.) One thing that seemed interesting was that from what I have read, Tablet usage seems to be getting higher with people of ages 55 and over
4.) I think that if I could get any phone, it would probably just be the phone I looked at, because it seems pretty interesting, and now it is pretty much one of the only phones that I know a good deal about.
5.) The phone i have now is the Pantech Ease.
