2. What are, based on what you researched, the top three best features of Google Apps?

  1. 1. Office 365 has a paid subscription service for multiple computers that also give you Skype Minutes and One Drive storage. It also includes access through smart phones and tables, and tools such as Office Online for live editing.

    2. Google Apps has the Drive’s functionality for sharing documents, and the use of Hangouts to easily interact between students or co-workers. It is also is half the price of Office 365.

    3. PV Schools uses Google Apps over Office 365 as a cheap alternative. Also, Google Apps is completely intertwined with the Pvlearners Email that we get assigned to. With the use of Google apps such as Docs, we can easily share between students and teachers, compared to sharing Word documents over Drop box or other alternatives.

    4. I would personally rather use Office over Google Applications, because there is a lot more functionality when it comes to Microsoft’s Office 365. Though it is more expensive, 365 has a larger bang for your buck, at 10 dollars a month.

  2. 1:
a - The different programs in the Microsoft Office 365 suite are all-encompassing.
b - The Office 365 suite has been in existence pretty much since the days of MSDOS and, consequently, is able to do a lot more things that a lot more companies want and need.
c - The Office 365 suite is automatically integrated into the Windows Phone platform.
    2:
a - The Google Apps suite is very bare-bones, and thus, doesn't need a lot of brainpower to work.
b - The Apps suite is automatically integrated into any Google account that is created.
c - The Apps suite is completely free, even though you get what you pay for.
3: The Google Apps suite is the default suite of the Paradise Valley school district because of its extreme simplicity and seamless integration. Personally, I have been using Google Docs to write up essays and make presentations since elementary school. Also, since the PV school district utilizes gMail for its mail platform, it can also use the Apps store easily and seamlessly.
    4. If I plan on running a video game company someday, it would almost be a necessity to get Office 365. It's the Swiss Army Knife of document suites; it does everything, and it does everything well. Also, the suite is very low-priced, and is thus not much of a business expense.

  3. 1. Office 365 has something called a Home Premium which means it can serve multiple computers and will simultaneously give you Onedrive storage which is cloud storage that you can access from many Web Browsers. This version of office also grants the user office online on your mobile devices such as your tablet or even your smart phone.

    2. Google Apps also has some very useful features as well as Office 365 does but for a lesser price than Office 365 and it is much easier to share documents with your friends and co-workers it also has top-notch security system which makes it so you control who sees it and only can which in my opinion is one of it's greatest features.

    3. PV School most likely uses Google Apps for its staff and students so that no random people can see or access your documents unless you allow them and because Google Apps is combined with Pvlearners, is cheaper than some of its alternatives.

    4. I would personally use Google Apps if I were in charge of said company because it would save money allow my works to share presentations, documents and because it is secure enough to prevent any breaches in what ever we may be doing.

  4. 1.)
-You can use it on all of your devices, so you don't need to be pinned to a computer to keep work getting done.
    -It comes with online videoconferencing.
-Subscription for multiple computers so you don't have to be confined to one.

    2.)
    -Free!
-You can share Google Doc files with someone who isn't a Google member.
    -Easy use.

3.) I believe PV School uses Google Apps because it can be easily included with their e-mail. Because all Google accounts come with Google Apps, it's easier to use than installing three programs on the computers for different things. We can talk, share, and create all on one site.

4.) Even though Office 365 is wonderful and will probably result in better productivity, i'd go with Google Apps. It's easy for everyone to share and communicate with each other on here, and it makes collaboration easier, and even encouraged.

The top three best features of Google Apps, that I think are the best are: 1) One app is called the Google Hangouts which is a simple video chat room app that would allow ten people to participate in a conversation together. 2) Another simple apps are the Pixlr editor and Aviary is an app, but is useful for photo editing for Google Drive. 3) The last Google App is the Spanning Stats which is an app that can break down a graph for you.
    3) I think PV School district uses Google Apps because it is very easy to use. We use them because we can share Google Docs with people that don't have Google. Another reason we use Google Apps is because we share our work with certain people on Google.
    4. I don't think I would like to be in charge of a business because there is a lot of people to control and to tell them what to do.

4.)If I was in charge of a small business, that was not very knowledgeable with both 365 and Google Apps, I would choose Google Apps because it is easier to use than Office 365. However, if the group was more knowledgeable, then I would choose Microsoft Office 365 because it is more professional and can handle more.

  9. 1.Better Excel for uses that Google can’t do, can access and work on from anywhere, able to work whether offline or online.

    2. Google Apps offers more online storage, more people are familiar with google’s services, better to work with multiple people at a time.

3.Easier to communicate with others, working together and sharing documents are much easier than waiting for one person to finish the document and then inputting your data and so on. For now they use Google, but in the future, Windows could rise and become something much greater.

    4. I’d let my employees decide and use whatever they’re most comfortable working with. They’ll be able to work much better with the program they are much more comfortable with.

It can do more things that experienced people need to be able to do when in a business, so using microsoft would be the most ideal for a business. If workers aren't that experienced, then google would be the best thing for them.

Also the online videoconferencing and free website hosting. Tools for splitting out on-premises servers and data stores from analogous services in the cloud.

  26. 1. Microsoft Office 365 excels from Google Apps with the ability to go more in depth into projects, with more features, and the ability to accomplish anything, as long as you know how to use it. One of its main selling points is Word, a text editing program capable of being so much more than your average program. You can make unbelievable documents in it, from the average users essay, to a business's advertising flyers. Another useful part of Office 365 is the large cloud storage, allowing the access of your documents from anywhere with internet. Most business' have adapted to the use of PowerPoint slideshows in presentations, almost anything is possible in it. Some buy Office purely for Word and PowerPoint, they are the tools to success.

    2. Google Apps can accomplish a lot with the ability to share documents with everyone, allowing anyone with internet to see them, or work with you on them. Its user friendly, almost anyone can pick it up and start working without needing to research it. People around the web have developed many things to help customize the apps, and make it even easier to use. It can't accomplish everything with just the base apps, but with community projects, you can add almost anything in.

    3. The PV district uses Google Apps for education because teachers can check students work, and assign projects all through a user friendly interface. Not every teacher or student knows the more complex sides of Office, and prefer being able to work comfortably with their current knowledge. Google Apps has adapted into a classroom friendly workspace, and many of its features are specific to schooling. Google Classroom gives updates, assigns work, and makes sure you've turned it in on time, with a fast and simple set up.

    4. In a workspace, Google Apps would fall short. It has the ability to create basic documents, but it lacks the ability to tackle larger projects. Microsoft Office 365 isn't as user friendly, but in a technology-based business, you should be accustomed to having to learn how to perform complex tasks with any tool given. Office has a large cloud storage, as well as digital copies of your own. Office may be daunting at first, but it is the most used in the business industry for a reason. Google Apps is designed for a social and educational environment, not for the workspace.

  28. 1a. You can use office 365 almost like a social media program to keep tabs on colleagues and communicate with them as you work on a project.
    b. It’s very easy and efficient to share documents to other people and groups of people.
    c. There is such an abundance of options and possibilities. You can produce anything you could possibly need for any digital project.

2a. Google apps is far more cost efficient than Office 365
    b. Gmail is a simple and straightforward program that is well protected from spam and hackers.
    c. All google apps are perfectly integrated and work with each other without making you tear your hair out.

    3. The PV School District uses Google Apps ver Office 365 because of how little money it costs and because of the fact that it accomplishes everything they could possibly need.

    4. As a CEO of a large, functioning business, I would probably pick Office 365 because of the options and possibilities open. If I use Office 365 I would have no fear that the project that needs completion cannot be completed. In the end, learning all of the numerous options and categories open is far worth the effort so as not to risk limiting the capabilities of the company.

  30. 1: Microsoft office 365 has mass amounts of online storage, gives good desktop apps, and google sheets can't even compare with microsoft excel.

2: Google apps is far simpler to use, Gmail is a superior email system, and plus google docs autosaves everything you do in case of a crash.

3: I think that the district uses google apps because it is simpler and slightly more reliable than microsoft office 365. I do actually agree that it is better that the district as a whole stays with google apps.

4: Well that is an interesting question because I do actually prefer Word over Docs, so I would use that, yet I would use Gmail for the email, and so on and so forth. So I would actually use a combination of both Google Apps AND Microsoft Office 365.

  31. 1. My top features of Office 365 are Word, the Microsoft Outlook Calendar, and Powerpoint.
    2. My top features of Google Apps are the free word processor of Google Docs, the simplicity of multiple editors, and Google Drawings.
    3. I believe that the PV School district uses Google for staff and students because Google is a powerful, free tool perfect for contacting teachers and collaborating on documents. Since Google Docs also syncs to the cloud, flash drives are not necessary for transporting documents between computers.
    4. I would pick Microsoft Office 365 because of the increased processing ability and the better administration options. Although Google Docs is useful in some cases, I believe that I would work on projects needing a processor with more tools than Google, and have a greater need for administration.

  32. 1.) The top three best features of Microsoft Office 365 are: It has really good security properties, it auto-saves, and it also has the capability of making a good PowerPoint, which I think is better than Google Apps

2.) Google Apps has: good formatting, its simple, and it has a good drive to share and keep everything all together.

3.) Because its free and its good to work all around school to share with other students and teachers. Its also good because you can use it at home if you have a computer, and everyone may not own a copy of Microsoft Office 365.

4.) I think I would use Office 365 since it is more professional and you can do a lot more with it, it has a lot more features and you can edit more, add more, and most of all it has really good security.I still really like Google apps though.

  33. 1.) One good feature about Microsoft Office 365 is that you can solve any problems before they begin, which allows IT staff to survey what you are working on, and isolate any problems with it. Another thing is that it has a sophisticated sharing system. Another feature is that you can make changes offline and, when you get connected to the internet, you can synchronize those changes.
2.) Some of the interesting features include the ability to edit pictures in your browser, being able to get details about the Google docs usage with Spanning Stats, and being able to run meetings online with Google Hangouts
3.) The PV School District might use the Google Apps for the staff and students because it might be a little easier to use and simpler to understand than the other types of things like that.
4.) If I was to choose any of these productivity workplaces, I would probably choose to use Google Apps, because it is the one I am most familiar with, since we have to use it for pretty much everything we do.

  34. 1. I would say that the best 3 features are Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. My mom holds a job in APS and is the boss of a group. She uses each of those 3 features very often in her work. They have been carefully refined and have many different effects/features inside each program.
    2. Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Sites. Those three are the most used and most important (other than google search). Gmail (in the workplace) allows you to communicate to others, whether it's one or hundreds, very easily and allows you to also send needed files to others, or yourself to switch to another device. Drive allows you to share your files and pictures with everyone, just yourself, or just people you choose all easier than with Gmail. Sites allows you to quickly, easily, and without any payment set up a website for anyone or just select people.
    3. It's easier for others to see people's documents and have a group of people just within our school. Also, there are sites like turnitin.com that uses google drive to turn in documents.
    4. I would probably choose Microsoft Office. Their programs produce a much better looking end document and have many more options. I would still use things like Google Drive and Gmail however. They work very well together.

    ReplyDelete
  35. 1) Office gives you Skype minutes to talk with your peers, allows you to work offline and upload it later to their storage, and has an amazing security program for IT's.
