Holiday Challenge
Spend $ 20,000 on the most unique, useful,
state-of-the art (as of right now) technology
gifts for yourself or others.
☞ What do you buy and how is it used?
1. Provide a brief overview of how you are going to approach this assignment. Where are you researching cool technologies? Are you comparing prices? How do you know its the coolest of cool? Is it a good value in spending this money? Could you take care of everyone on your holiday list with technology? Describe Your plan.
2. Make a spreadsheet. Provide the short link to your google sheet* here on your blog. BE CREATIVE and have some fun :)
*Instructions for spreadsheet:
- Create 4 columns: 1) Item name, 2) Details, 3) Recipient, 4) Price
- Have a total at the bottom of your sheet of all the expenses
- Be as close as possible to the $20,000. (Don't worry about tax)
- TITLE: your spreadsheet: Tech List - (Your last name)
- SHARE it: dkovesdy AND share it with "Anyone who has the link" out side of pvlearners.
- You need at least 5 items minimum!
1.) Im going to think of the coolest items that are out there. I want to find the newest most innovative items and technologies that are being made today. Things that are both cool toys, but are also things I can experiment with and create, and things that will make my life easier.

DeleteTold you it was coming soon.
DeleteYou all doubted me
Who's laughing now?
I want to try and find wearable tech. No matter who you are, some of this tech can really improve lives. For example (you may not use this example) the microsoft hololens. Link will be in a reply to this.

I'm just trying to get a better phone, a great speaker, and some game consoles. All the items are for me. I'm not being selfish it's just that it's not everyday that I get $20,000. So, I will be taking full advantage of this opportunity! Haha

1. I have to thank uncle Bob for sending all of 6th and 7th hour $20,000 each. So my plan is to find a cool and interesting tech item for my immediate family and I. I think I will generally be using google search to find the items, and just visit the items website for the prices. I will not be comparing prices, I want the retail, factory new, fresh out of the oven quality($20,000 provides lots of elbow room). I know I'm finding the coolest stuff, because the only time Google has failed to deliver was whenever I search up a word I've never heard of... Urban-dictionary is a dangerous place. Wasting $20,000 on new technology for recreational purposes only, is absolutely NOT worth it(But I don't care its not my money). With $20,000 split up among 5 people, I will certainly have some left money over.

ReplyDeleteIm going to think of new tech that people dont really see on a every day basis or on the internet alot.

1. I’m going to start looking up things that I know are technology for friends and myself. Then, I’m going to start scouring the internet for the coolest and most insane stuff that seems cool to me. I start to look on google by searching for “coolest technology” and start branching out from there. Once I find something cool, I’m going to keep looking to find the lowest price. My plan mainly consists of me looking for technology in a spontaneous way which is how I usually find all the cool things I would want for the holidays. This money could definitely take care of my holiday list as there is tons of tech that isn't so expensive but still is state-of-the-art.

1. I’m going to approach this assignment my trying to find some of the things I find the coolest, what I would what, and what other members of my family would want. I will also be looking for the most expensive option in these categories

1: I'm going to probably go off of things that I personally find cool. I will be going to a few sites that sell really awesome stuff for nerds like me. The items I'll find mostly will be custom stuff, so I doubt there will be need for price comparing. For example, how many places can you find the Turret bot from the Portal series? I know it's the coolest because I'm looking for it myself, and this is about what I find cool. I'll direct the recipient list to my five closest friends.

1) I will take on this assignment by first thinking of the latest technologies like 3D printers or virtual reality and expanding upon them. Find ones that are bigger and better to fit around the latest technologies out there.

I am researching the cool techs on the websites of popular companies and Google. Comparing the price? No way, I got enough money to spend it. Talking about the coolest of cool, just apply a rule of thumb. If its New than its cool. I dont think I can take care of everyone.

1. I'm going to look for technology that recently came out I already knew about and wanted to get, then I'm going to search on the web for new technologies that have recently been released. With this much money I'm going to try and find really expensive items.

ReplyDelete1. For this assignment I am going to go on amazon and find some of the things I've wanted ever since I was a kid. For the Research, I went on Amazon and OriginPC. I am not comparing prices. I don't know if it's the coolest of the cool buuuuuut I sure think it is. I honestly don't think this is a great idea due to people feeling free about spending money, Instead of what we would spend it on. How would we spend it? Yes I have spent money on everyone I could think of.
ReplyDelete2. https://goo.gl/CA3E9t
1. For this blog I went out on the internet and found some really cool technology. From Drones to 20 inch Tables. I looked on kickstarter for new awesome technology and also amazon. I did do some comparing of prices for some of the items. Yes, I think it is a good value to spend the money because you will be getting some pretty cool stuff that you should enjoy. Yes, I could take care of my family's gifts with only technology because my family is huge with tech.

1. For this assignment I will mostly be visiting Best Buy's website to complete my list. I will be getting a couple of people gifts but I plan on getting myself some things too. I will be buying only the most expensive things I can but only if they look good and are good quality.
ReplyDelete2. https://goo.gl/vWLW3T
1. I will start by thinking of what I think would be cool and I know I won't be able to think of much so then I'll ask a few people what they think would be cool. After that I will go on gizmag a website that has news on new inventions and new cool tech and I'll look around. I plan on getting something for me, but also a few things for other people. I am going to make sure I research a little about what I am buying before I put it on the list.
ReplyDelete2. https://goo.gl/nbpnJ2
1.) I just picked a bunch of random stuff that seemed to be interesting enough to add to the list, along with a little help from other sources offering ideas and such of what to add. All of the stuff I listed had no real person in particular in getting them for, as I have not been particularly keen on thinking of other people in such a subject for almost a month, nor do I have any reason to do a whole lot like that for other people, and so anything on that list would just be for general classroom use or however else they would be applied at.
ReplyDelete2.) https://goo.gl/TytVoZ
I approached this assignment by first making a list of what types of items I would need. Apple devices, tech toys, gadgets, modern house items, something to ride, something to control, something each of the people I know would like, something to further enhance gaming etc. I then searched for each category one at at time, using knowledge I have collected in the past, like I knew a bit about gaming computers, phones, drones, and had some ideas for tech gadgets. So first I would look up "cool high tech drones compatible with iphones" or "top ten coolest drones of 2015" an would search up similar things for everything else. I would Also go to many websites that list the coolest technology available, for more ideas. I did a lot of comparing prices, looking at multiple versions of similar products, making sure that I got the best "cool to price ratio," and also had some previous knowledge about where to get the best priced items, like for example I knew where to get a hover-board for $150 rather than get ripped off by other companies that sell the exact same thing for $500. Making a list of all the people I wanted to get something for(including myself) really helped me plan out and design who would get what, and I did end up covering everyone with technologies.
ReplyDeletehttps://goo.gl/HyLKxz
I'm researching technology by things I already knew about and also websites that I find about new technology. I'm not going to be comparing prices for the items because I think the most important thing is getting the best and not the cheapest, especially because $20,000 can go a long way, since most things are under $1,000. I'm just going to search around for the coolest most innovative technology I can find and then I'll add it to my list. Most of the things I will be putting on my list are good value, but a lot are just really cool things I've found which might not be that useful but are definitely cool tech-wise.
ReplyDeletehttps://goo.gl/qYn9fT
I am looking for technology by going to the websites for technology companies that I have heard of and just looking at what they have. Also, I am going into this assignment with some specific pieces of technology that I know I already want. I am then comparing the prices I find with other reliable sources. I am not comparing them with sketchy sites because it may not be what it seems to be. I know it is the coolest of the cool because I have been checking to see if there are better ones whenever I find an item. It is a good value in spending the money because it could provide so much entertainment. I could take care of my whole family's Christmas gifts with technology.
ReplyDeletehttps://goo.gl/DvQbBO
I plan on researching cool technology in general. I want to see what is out there by using a broad search. I will grab some cool stuff for myself. Then I will ask my family and friends to see if there is anything that they would like. After that, I will continue to search online on various tech sites. I probably will not compare prices as I am expecting many of the items to be rather unique. I will read reviews on the items to ensure that the money I spend it worth it. The reviews will also enable me to see if other people find the items as cool as I do, effectively proving whether or not it is the “coolest of cool.” I could probably take care of everyone on my holiday list by buying technology but I honestly would not want to. There are certain people on my list that I prefer to make things for or give more simple gifts to. This is going to be an interesting project and I’m looking forward to what I can find!
ReplyDeleteSpreadsheet - https://goo.gl/Kh5H3T
I am going to try to find a lot of technology that is really cool and popular right now. This would be things like hover boards, drones, robots, virtual reality, etc. I'll try to find things that cost a decent price like around 3-4 thousand.
ReplyDeletehttps://goo.gl/jfbMCF
I'm looking for tech that has peaked interest this year or something I heard of. For example, one of my items helps blind people see some color. I found that particular information on a social media site. Cost doesn't really matter to me, only that it has to have a use.
ReplyDeletehttps://goo.gl/CbEFNP
I am searching for new technology in obscur fields I am interested in, and then searching sites for anything "unique" or "bizzare". I am hoping to find items so original that there is nothing to price-check against it. I will find as many as possible, and delete any extra products if they happen as soon as I go over the limit.
ReplyDeletehttps://goo.gl/aabf6m
1. I am going to search the weirdest unknown sites to find cool technology nobody really knows about. I will see if those technologies have any cheaper alternatives.
ReplyDelete2. https://goo.gl/33XkDC
1) I used various different sites on Google to research items I was interested in buying.I compared prices of similar items to each of my items.I decided to go with name brands hat are trusted and have warranties.I found the "coolest of the cool" by researching all the details on each item and the reviews from customers.I can take care of everyone on my list and very well.
