The future has arrived and it will be run by our devices.
Explore. Look at all of these resource links:
1. What is the IoT? How is it expected to expand by 2020? How will it affect our lives personally?
2. Discuss the benefits of IoT either globally or citywide. Possibly consider waste, resources, efficiency or time.
3. How is information communicated M2M? What are RFID's? What other ways do devices connect with each other?
Be thoughtful and comprehensive. This is your future we're talking about...
1.) IoT is "the idea that any physical object can connect to the internet and communicate with other objects to relay information to people". For example, it could be your car saying hello to you when you turn on the engine, or even your coffee pot telling you good morning. By 2020, this project is expected to expand the number of "things" connected to the internet to 50 billion. That's a lot. I think it will make our personal lives easier, but taking away the steps to completing some actions, like driving and being late for school. XD
ReplyDelete2.) IoT has many benefits, with the communication of person and device. Everyone hates when their laptop runs out of battery and you don't realize it. IoT can be programed to tell you in a good time's advance that the battery needs to be charged, or that a certain page on a website was published.
3.) M2M is communicated through wireless technologies. RFID's are small chips that work with radio frequency to connect to the internet. You can also connect devices to the internet or other places using Bluetooth, which connects data over short distances.
1.loT, Internet of Things, is a vision thats be built as we speak. The vision being built is physical objects that connect to the internet and communicate with other physical objects that are connected to provide info to people. By 2020 Billions and billions of devices will be connected to the internet.
ReplyDelete2. If so many devices are connected to the internet, then shouldn't everything be connected no matter where you are? I see that as a waste, wouldn't the internet crash if theres so many devices at one time on the same internet server?
3. m2m is wireless (Wifi), while RFID is used in transit systems. using frequency to connect. Isn't Cloud a way for devices to connect to each other?
1. IoT, or the internet of things, is a system that is already being put in place. It is the concept that everyday appliances will communicate with each other in order to work more efficiantly and to make our lives easier. By 2020, it is thought that there will be over 50 million devices epuipped with these communicative technologies. I think it would all together save time and make every event of the day smoother for the one living it.
ReplyDelete2.Because most devices are internet connected by default, it would be easy to implement a system like this in the near future. Also, the events that were depicted in the video are prime examples of the little things that this system of integrated devices will solve. Globally, it could also inform of the loss of a soldier or a wounded soldier during battle in order to know when reinforcements are needed.
3.M2M means machine to machine and is the basic program that allows, say, my phone to connect to my friend's. It is basically another way to refer to a wireless connection. RFID's are more personal, in that they are a way for technology to identify a person. Although, that can be dangerous because others can find your information over the internet. Servers like the ones on Xbox and Playstation are ways to connect to each other's device.
1. It is the idea that anything can connect to the internet and communicate with others. In 2020, we will be able to use it anywhere and on multiple devices. It will make peoples lives much easier.
ReplyDelete2. IoT has many benefits for everyone. In the future, many objects will be connected. This big network will mean many tasks and information exchanges can be automated. It can tell you important details about what is going on, such as low battery, low on supplies, or just general reminders.
3. M2M is machine to machine. It allows devices, such as smartphones or tablets, to communicate to other devices, maybe a TV or computer wirelessly. RFID chips are small, but cheap. They use radio waves to send information to RFID readers that are connected to the internet. Some RFID chips are already in use. They can be pet collars, cattle trackers, tracking vehicles, airline passengers, Alzheimer's patients, and much more. Video game servers are a way for devices to connect. Also, Bluetooth can connect certain devices.
1.) What is IoT? IoT is the idea that any physical object can connect to the internet and communicate with other objects to relay information to people. There are 9 billion connected devices at present, and by 2020, that number is going to explode to 24 billion devices according to new statistics released by GSMA. These are implications that are going to have a big impact on every aspect of our society including our phones, computers, and other favorite social websites. This will also include cheaper prices.
ReplyDelete2.) How can IoT be beneficial to us? The governing the internet of things would change by Rethinking data protection policy, decreasing failures in accountability and liability. We can also begin the design of public IoT devices suck as the Technology Strategy Board’s Future City Demonstrator,Mapping, and games. What can the internet of things do to help us with our trash and waste problem? IoT can give us a proper way to dispose of our trash and waste.
3.) M2M which means Machine to machine refers to technologies that allow both wireless and wired systems to communicate with other devices of the same type. RFID which means Radio-frequency identification is the use of an object applied to or incorporated into a product, animal, or person for the purpose of identification and tracking using radio waves. One good example of a way 2 devices can connect to each other is through bluetooth.

ReplyDelete1. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a scenario in which objects, animals or people are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to automatically transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. It has evolved from the convergence of wireless technologies, micro-electromagnetically systems (MEMS) and the Internet.
ReplyDelete2. The programmers could connect to the machine over the Internet, check the status of the machine and determine whether or not there would be a cold drink awaiting them, should they decide to make the trip down to the machine.
This is incredibly useful for usefulness and convenience.
3. M2M is a useful way to transfer information from one machine to another. RFID is a tracking system that uses intelligent bar codes to track items in a store. The tags contain electronically stored information. M2M was originally used for automation and instrumentation but now has been also used to refer to telematics applications. There is a way to bump two iPhones together in order to share information, however, I don't know what it is called. I think it is called Bump TM. The other, more common way to share info, is Bluetooth.
1. What is loT? loT is the future of how we connect to the internet and communicate with objects to inform us that something may be empty or you need groceries, etc. By 2020 we are expected for loT to expand all over the world so we can communicate with devices that we use every day. It will probably make a big impact on the everybody because its something new and it might make somethings cheaper then they use to be.
ReplyDelete2. How can loT benefit us? If class was canceled or an accident has happened the way that you go to school that will give you an alternate route to school etc. loT gives you a proper way to dispose of trash and waste.
3. M2M which is machine to machine which is technology that allows wireless and wired systems to communicate with other devices such as phones, game systems, and electronics. RFID which stands for Radio frequency identification is used for identifying people, animals, or products by tracking them through radio waves. One device that can connect to RFID is a phone or Bluetooth or any type of electronic.
1. The IoT is the idea that physical objects can link to the internet and work together to help other people get information, this will make everyday lives easier for people because they will be able to rely on technology to give them essential information and it will also make exchanges and transactions easier by making them automated. By 2020 we will be able to use this on everyday devices such as refrigerators to tell you what you need to buy at the store or on a shower to turn on so you can shower while on a tight schedule. This will make lives easier by improving memory and by possibly even saving them
ReplyDelete2. IoT has many beneficial qualities such as alerting you of a class being cancelled, or a traffic accident. How you might ask?. Well the internet of things lets our everyday devices communicate and work together to make our lives easier for a traffic accident IoT would suggest a alternate route so you would not be kate for a important job interview and for a class being cancelled students will be alerted through their alarm clocks by resetting their alarm to the next class time. These are just some of the benefits that IoT has.
3.M2M is machine to machine this makes our lives much easier by having our devices communicate with each other to work together so we can live a better life and more efficient.RFID or radio frequency identification technology uses radio waves to get the information out to people.RFID is mostly used in automated payments and in pet microchips, but is also used in transportation and other devices to make our lives easier.
1.) IoT Is the internet of things. it is expected to increase by 2020 to help 50 billion unique identifiers. It will mostly help us on whats going on, so like if your in a car crash your car has a alarm in it so it will contact the emergency room right away. It will also help out with the elderly for example if and elder forgot to take a pill the IoT will contact someone who is available to help out the elder. If the person is not available to help the elder out the IoT will contact someone else who is available AND if that person say "No I cant" than the IoT will contact the emergency room and will send someone to see what up.
ReplyDelete2.) The IoT will be helpful with somethings like the elder thing and maybe the car crash note that tells you to take a different route. I think it will be kinda dumb because what if the computer 'N' stuff go haywire and try to kill human kind. I would look to it but not much much because its pretty wired.
3.) They will be connected by being linked to each other and basically a giant wireless connection, you could tell the machine to make you a drink or something like that. It would be connected maybe on your connection that you buy or comes with the things you buy Machine to machine.
1. IoT, A.K.A. Internet of Things, is the idea of objects and tools for whatever purpose around the world will all have individual RFID chips to send information to the internet of things like car crashes, class cancellations, prescription reminders to your family and not just you, and tons more. By 2020, they are expecting to have 50 billion unique identifiers.
ReplyDelete2. This would have a big effect on everyday life. It would make everything faster, safer, and more productive. I can see the helpfulness, but i believe we really don't need RFID chips in things like our coffee cups and other items like that.
3. is coming later
1. IoT is the Internet of Things which is a new idea to make everyday objects including cars and home appliances able to the internet to make life easier and interact with the world. By 2020 it is expected to expand to more than 50 billion "things" connected to the internet and be able to interact with each other in everyday life. Also the devices will be able to connect with the other and talk with each other/ other objects connected to the internet. They will make our lives much easier and probably give us easier ways to do our work.
ReplyDelete2. In a city the IoT can help tell what is running empty to the city so it can be refilled and change the way people navigate through cities. Also it will help people know of what is happening around them because more things will be able to tell them the news from the internet. More people will know of family situations and if someone is in trouble and needs help.
3. M2M means machine to machine and they communicate through RFID which allows them to interpret information and act on it according to what is right. RFIDs are radio frequency identification technology which are small inexpensive chips using radio waves to receive information. Devices also connect in a way where they are allowing text to communicate to others, also known as TEXTING.
1. IoT is an abbreviation for Internet of Things. Internet of Things is idea that all technology can be linked together over the internet to make human life easier. For example you need to wake up and take a bus to school it will calculate the time you need to be there while considering you taking a shower etc. The technology is already being focused in the UK but by 2020 there will be more than 50 Billion devices connected.
ReplyDelete2. There are many benefits to this technology such as making human life easier. There is also a huge benefit in the medical field such as being able to check your patient anywhere. There are disadvantages such as people becoming lazier which could raise obesity etc.
3. Information is sent over a wireless connection from Machine to Machine. Radio Frequency Identification is a technology in which an object sends information over magnetic fields they can be also as tiny as a grain of rice. They can also go through smart phones and sensors embedded in items to communicate.
1. The IoT or Internet of Things is a collection of aspirations of people to revolutionize the world into a massive interwoven system that spreads data to machines that need it. The IoT will make our lives much more simpler and give us the free time to have hobbies and have fun. This will also make more technologies possible because of the time people will have and the inspirations that the IoT will give.
ReplyDelete2. Globally the IoT will solve many problems and prevent countless frustrations. It will also make communication easier between cities and countries. Resources will be used much more efficiently and waste reduced. The time spent doing most activities will be saved and used for something better.
3. M2M is basically using wifi to communicate with other machines to transfer information that might alter how that machine behaves. RFIDs are chips containing information about the machine, animal, or person that it is inserted inside of
DeleteIoT, the short name for Internet of Things is a fascinating concept in which all devices would contribute to the sea of data to bring knowledge as well as simplicity into the lives of the average person. This would be benificial to citizens as it would save time, money, and energy by preforming tasks such as calculating the time you need to wake up on an individual morning and notifying your alarm clock to do so simultaneously. This may even be more important to the business world. Businesses would be able to check up on the status of company cars, workers, and more using the internet of things. By 2020, most devices such as coffee pots or alarm clocks (for the few who still use a traditional clock instead of an iPhone) will be connected to the internet, accessible from anywhere. Not only will they communicate with the consumer, but also each other, for instance the alarm clock telling the coffee pot when the owner is going to wake up so coffee will be ready as soon as the consumer wakes.
ReplyDelete2) The internet of things will help cities master efficiency. It can reroute a city bus for the fastest route to point B, or even inform city workers of sewage issues right when they arise- before they become a smelly disaster.
3) Devices connect M2M mainly through the internet communications. On a daily basis, home computers are connecting to massive servers to display web pages and check emails. RFID, or radio frequency identification are small chips of which contain information. These chips normally have no power supply, and can only be read by a specific device capable of communicating with it and providing it with a form of power. Other ways devices connect are NFC, or near-field communication introduced in many Android devices. That device can connect with another when placed within a very small distance. Bluetooth works similarly, except this kind of connection allows devices to be slightly further apart, and sometimes require a password for pairing.
1) The Internet of Things is where everyday objects like your fridge, car, alarm clock, ect. are all communicating wiht each other to make it easier on humans. Let's say I set my alarm clock to wake me up at 5:30. When it wakes me up, it will tell my car to get ready, my coffee to start brewing, and my T.V. to turn on. Also, depending on my mood, it would change tiny things to make me happier. Like, if I had a bad day the day before, it might play happy songs, or turn the T.V. on to a show with kittens on it. People all around the world right now are working hard to make more and more things start communicating with each other. For example, news broadcasts and cell phones. If there is a flood or something headed towards you, you will receive a text warning you about it. With all these devices working to make you happier and make life easier, it could save people from depression.
ReplyDelete2) With all these devices communicating with each other, there would be less car accidents. Cars would stop before they hit each other, saving a lot of lives. Also, this technology could tell people to put recyclable things into the recycle bin. This could help the Earth's pollution reduce.
3)Machines are able to communicate to each other using RFID chips. They send radio waves to each other telling them different messages. They are about as small as a finger nail, and are very affordable. Another way deices connect with each other is through IP addressees. Mainly used by computers, this is a way data can be transferred from one user to another.
1. The IoT will be a groundbreaking achievement between man and machine. It will allow us to experience luxuries we were only able about before, such as less time consumption for day to day activities like making making coffee in the morning or getting groceries. By the year 2020, we should be able to eliminate any "time wasters" and we will be able to use the time saved to make more advances on technology.
ReplyDelete2.The IoT would allow us to save massive amounts of energy and resources worldwide. If you are a person that leaves lights or other devices on in a room, then leaves for half an hour, then you must know that that is wasting tons of energy. With the IoT we will no longer waste all of this energy, lights will turn off automaticly and devices will go into sleep mode if you leave the room for a certain amount of time.
3. M2M and IoT both include devices talking among themselves using wireless broadband. RFID's are chips that are put into a product, animal, or person for the purpose of identification and tracking using radio waves.
1.According to many sources. the idea of an "internet of things" has been passed around to many smart and capable people. And they have concluded that it could be in our near future. By 2020 it is estimated that 50 billion devices will be connected such as cars street lights and home appliances. the purpose of this is make our lives streamline and straight to the point, the idea of eliminating things in our lives that take up precocious time.
ReplyDelete2 everyday there are a lot of big things happening in our country and world wide, natural disasters Economic differences and things of this nature, i think that an IOT could bring our world together in a time of need or crisis. and as for waste management, if all goes as planned and IOT could ultimately eliminate the need for any human interaction and labor with waste and its disposal.
3 M2M is machine to machine communication, a modern day example could be a wireless blue tooth headset. RFID's are personal data tags that are integrated into many products devices they use radio waves to help calculate different situations that its user might be and the adjusts accordingly
1.) The internet of things is something that is in the process of being invented, it is where all internet related things are connected to your life. By the year 2020 everyone in the world will be able to get to there destination faster.
ReplyDelete2.) The internet of things will help save energy like when you leave your house and you leave a TV on and some lights on it will loose allot of power but it will all turn off after a curtain amount of time.
3.) M2M and internet of things are pretty much the same thing using wireless connection work. RFID are things that are put into any living thing so that they can be tracked and you can know there condition.
1, Lot stands for Internet of Things. The internet of Things is what will connect everything to each other including even pets and mechanic devices. By the year 2020 people in the world could be able to get to a destination faster than ever before.
ReplyDelete2. The internet of things will help save energy such as electricity and water. My mom today keeps telling me to turn of lights if you aren't using them. If you forget to do that then they will turn off by them self's.
3. M2M is machine to machine communication.(Phones) RFID's are like data chips that you would put in living things to track them. The also communicate through radio waves.
1.)The internet of things(IoT) is basically where all the technology by the year 2020 will be connected to make sure that there is nowhere you can hide when some idiot makes terminators and we all die.
ReplyDelete2.)Well i'm not sure because like i said above i can see this happening and besides saving energy and the terminators ._. everyone will literally not leave technology in which case we will all die or become fat slobs from wall-e.
3.)Really by now someone else has to have realized that M2M (machines to machines) is a good idea but like i said before... its kinda sketchy. But RFID tags i'm saying that's crossing the line i mean seriously putting a chip in someone that's extremely sketchy.
(you said be original i did)
1. The Internet of things is a planned (future) network of devices that can communicate with each other for the benefit of human beings.
ReplyDelete2. Having a network of devices that can communicate with each other and you is a tremendously beneficial idea to bring to our homes and businesses we know this because it is already happening, water pipes underground have sensors that detect blockages, taxis have sensors to pick up calls for people who need a cab. This system really works and is beneficial. I do not see any flaws.
3. RFIDs are computer ships, that use radio frequency to connect to the internet. M2M communicates using wireless or even wired technologies.
1)The iot is basically a netework that allows every object to communicate with one another to make your life easier. It is at 1 billion and is ecxpected to rise to 2 billion by 2020. It will make our lives easier i nthe sense of knowing at that moment you will have what you must know to complete that task.
ReplyDelete2)The iot will effect the globe by making It easier to communicate with someone a roots the world.
3)M2M is machine to machine like my phone to my friends phone or my phone to the internet. RFID stands for radio frequency identification and is most commonly used in business to track barcode in the store.
1. The Internet Of Things is exactly what it sounds like. Many devices or "things" all connected together through the internet. These things can communicate with each other simultaneously. In the year 2020,it is expected that over 50 billion devices will be connected to the internet (thats about 3 devices per person).
ReplyDelete2. Some benefits of citywide use would be traffic systems. For example, people could check for the fastest route on their gps. The gps could connect to the traffic lights, calculating the fastest route to your location.
3.M2M stands for Machine 2(to) Machine. This term is used to describe when to machines are communicating with wireless signals. RFID (radio frequency identification) are chips inside electronics that can send signals over (shorter) distances through radio signals. This can be used on animals like tags. It is usually inserted by injection. Then when an animal is found or rescued, the pound or vet could just scan the animal to find the information stored on the chip like addresses and owners.
1: The Internet of Things is the grid of all electronic devices that share the ability to communicate with one-another, allowing them to help us as people make everyday tasks easier to complete and require less time. The IoT is currently not widespread, but is expected to be nearly everywhere by 2020.
ReplyDelete2:The Internet of Things brings about many benefits to many people around the world. The smarter technology will help cause many everyday events to become more efficient, especially when talking about time, which will be saved in huge amounts. Yet, the IoT may cause problems such as needing to be constantly repaired, and events such as hackings and glitches may become roadblocks for people, and there is a chance that poorer families will not be able to gain easy access to the IoT because of the technology that it requires.
3: The M2M is the wireless ability that devices have to be able to connect with one another. RFID chips allow this to be done through radio waves, which is quick and inexpensive. These connections could also be found through local wifi and bluetooth, although these options are far less permanent.
