  1. The answers from the GenYES students will be completely different from the world Poll because of the amount of participants. However, I predict most students will be quite similar with how they answer the questions. On a different note, I was shocked that India really needed technology over everyone else in the world. It could be they are still so NEW to the Technology Age.

  2. I predict that the answers from GENYES students will be relatively the same with a few exceptions, including their generation, and the fact they are in a Tech class that surrounds them with technology! What surprised me is that the United States is second from last on having to have the latest technology that's out. Also that the age group 18-24 is lower in sending suggestive photos then the age group 25-29.

  4. I predict that my answers will be somewhat close to the worlds because most kids in this day in age have mobile tech . And the thing that most surprised me india has the most need for new tech.

  5. I think that our answers will be very similar with the exception of ours being slightly higher in some categories. I was surprised that 73% of indians said that their wireless devices brought them into closer contact with their families.

  6. I think our statistics are probably a little more extreme, because I see people walking around with their phones out all the time. For the most part, though, I think we see that our phones need a little responsibility more than a few other countries, which surprises me. I thought America would be less strict with themselves about phones.

  7. I think that the answers we did were similar besides some areas. I think its cool that about 3/4 of the indian population use wireless devises to search for there relatives.

  8. Our poll and TIME's poll are different because we have a different perspective on technology. Yes, there are some points in TIME's poll that I agree with, but since I am a GenYESer, I feel that phones do help us in our everyday lives, but they are not mandatory to surviving.

  9. I think that tech. has moved so fast that people are having trouble ajusting. I mean, I have a micro card that is more powerful then the apolo 11. a new ipod or ipad or iphone comes out every 6 months.

  10. I think that our answers will be slightly higher than average in all categories.

  11. I believe that soon, almost everyone will be glued to their smartphones, and other devices. The poll results didn't particularly surprise me.

  12. i think that are answers are superior

  13. Dependance on technology is an ever-growing problem in our society. The lack of separation between real life and the digital world often takes away from basic social interaction. Thusly, the poll results did not particularly surprise me.

  14. I was surprized that only 18% of Americans said that they need to have the latest technology. I would have thought at least 50% of Americans would say yes.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I was uterly speechles at the amout of people that said that they didn't need the latest and greatest technology and more people in other places besides america there where people who said they needed it more. That baffled me.

  16. 1. I think that our responses will be almost if not exactly the same as the world's. After all teens are basically the same all over the world. I was surprised that the average age for a mobile devices is 13.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I was very suprised, the fact that we we're the lowest rated in thinking technology being constantly connected to us is helpful blows me away. I thought that America would definitely be much more dependant on technology.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I was surprised that India is the most up to date on mobile technology. I think that our results will differ towards more technologically dependent.

  19. Im honestly not that shocked, ive even seen kids that are around 8 that have Iphones. But on the graph that surprised me the most is that 1% leave their phones in the car. most people have it in their room or next to them.

    ReplyDelete
  20. i believe all of the studies because i know people who do and have all of the things in the graphs. I think ours will obviously be different than the polls they took.

  21. I was shocked that 18% of america said they have the latest technology because i see kids everywhere that have the newest iphones

  23. I think that we should be better without all this technology because its not healthy not being in the real world

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think because we are so technically driven we will probably be slightly above the average score of results. we probobly use our phones a lot more then most pepole.

    ReplyDelete
  25. i thought that it was interesting that more people in the united stats of america dont know about cell phone than other countries in the world.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I was shocked that In the United States, Americans said they don't need the best computer ot tv or any kind of technology out there. I am a person who does want that so i figured everyone else did but it surprised me that other countries said that they need it more and we said we don't. Just shocking.

  27. I was supprized to see that India was at the top of the most calls and text messages list.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think I answers will be completely different. Inda and technology!? I am shocked because most of us would think a european country and the United states would probably be in first for most all/ texts.Although, india leads everyone for that!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think that my results will be similar. I check my phone/ipod alot and I dont think that it is uncommon to have your phone charging on your night stand. When I think of India poverty is one of the first things to pop into my head, so I was extremley surprised to find that overall, India seems to be the most reliant/helped by mobile phones. They were also the most percentage of having the lastest technology. I am also surprised that people would leave their phones in their car when they go to sleep. I would only do that if I thought i had lost my phone and could not find it before bed.

  30. I thought it was funny to see the amount of people that use their mobile while seeing a movie. Why do you need to see your phone when you're watching a movie you paied to see? I also found it interesting that social networks had most effected peoples lives who live in India and the least effect on people who live in the U.S. because every one tells me how great facebook is and I should get one.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The results will most likely be similar, to a certain extent. What surprised me is how many people couldn't go more than a few hours without checking their phone or other mobile device, and how dependent they were on it.

  32. I think yes especially since technology is such a big part in our lives especially to us genyes members. It was very intresting to me to see how third world countries like India are more driven to there mobile devices. Just goes to show who's the up and coming major tech devolopers/manufactuers of the world.

    ReplyDelete
  33. For the most part, I believe that a lot of GenYES would agree with what the polls said. Since we are so tech savvy and taking into account the world we are growing up in, almost every teenager has a cell phone. However what I found ridiculous was that almost 70% of people sleep with their phone right next to their bed. And that 66% of people would rather bring their cell phone to work then their lunch. Seriously?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I was kind of amazed of what some people really do with there phones, I mean China-79% Use there phones to check the news!
While in India-73% say it makes them closer to there family.

I'm positive the results will only be almost the same but just slightly higher for Genyes for other reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  35. People seem to be very engrossed in their phones, but many people use them for different reasons like checking the news or texting or even as a camera.

I think that people do not use the same technology as we in GenYES do but they seem to be similar and very tangible.

  36. I am surprised that the U.S. is not leading in every study done on mobile technology because just about every high school student has a new Droid or a new iPhone 4/4S. I think that it is kind of crazy that India is leading in ALMOST every study/graph.

  37. I don't understand how were at the bottom of the totem pole and India is at the top I kind of makes sense because India has a lot of people but for social networking really were at the bottom Facebook has every 10-16 year old on there mobile device 24/7

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm surprised that in most of the poles the US came in last and if we weren't in last we were second to last. This really blows my mind because the world sees America as a leading part of technology, and we don't even use it as much as the rest of the world.

    ReplyDelete
  39. 1.) i think the GENYES students will mostly agree because we are all tech savvy.

    ReplyDelete
  40. i am pretty shocked to see that u.s is second to last in mobile technology i see almost every one in the hole school walking with there smart phones i thought we were one of the tops in mobile technology

  41. i am pretty shocked to see that u.s is second to last in mobile technology i see almost every one in the hole school walking with there smart phones i thought we were one of the tops in mobile technology

  42. I am really surprised that the united states is not the first in mobile technology and i think that america is the worlds leader in technology.

  43. 1. I thought it was weird how 18% of the whole country have the latest tech, because I see so many kids everyday that have phones, ipods, and much more just from walking from one class to another.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think that It was weird how only a handful of the world has a interest in keeping up with the latest tech. I'm not really sure if this worry's me or if I am happy about it, it means people aren't advancing but at the same time, why would it concern me, i mean, im not trying to find out the exact time the new I phone comes out, i really couldn't care less.

And AS for the predictions of the rest of the class, i don't think my answers will be to far off from the rest of the classes.

  45. It surprised me that the phone changed India a lot. India is mostly #1 in each poll.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I believe the results for the GenYES students will be completely different than the rest of the world. GenYES kids are more technically inclined and therefore use technology more than the average person would (thats how i am).

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think a lot of people probably also use their phones a little too often. I feel that our generation isn't using our technology to the best of its ability, we should be using amazing means of communication and we'r really hung up on texting.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I think that the genyes result will vary greatly from the from the rest of the planet. kids more so genyes kids are more tech-savvy so they will be able to do greater things with the technology placed in front of them.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I was speechless when i read that a phone has more power that used in the Apollo missions.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I felt the same as the above comment. Thats what we used to go to the moon.

    ReplyDelete
  51. GenYES students are more likely to use their phones more than the average person because of the technological draw to them. The statistics about India and China were rather surprising considering how much we use our phones in the US. I can't imagine how it is there is they use their phones more than we use ours.

    ReplyDelete
  52. GenYES students will tend to use our technology more than most people due to our advanced knowledge on how these devices work.
