Future Tech

In the spirit of Innovation and the holiday week... enjoy these websites.
This is your future.

1. What new idea or future innovation impressed you the most? Why?

2. Think about this. You might let the future unfold in front of you or you can be part of the process. I believe you have the potential to be a very cool, future innovator. So dream a bit and project how you might be involved in developing and using one of these or other future technologies. Provide imaginative details....

  1. 1) I really like the phone in the video in the first link. It looked really cool and i was very interested in that.

    2) I would love to be apart in developing some of these future technologies. I no idea how or what i could do to help with these things, i just know it would be really awesome and fun to be apart of it.

  2. 1. The future air bus video is broken, but it seems like a cool idea when I looked it up.
    2. It would be great to be a part of creating a new technological piece and to know that I would be changing the world forever, the only problem is that I don't know what I am going to create yet.

  3. 1: I was very impressed with the new translation in the first video with the kids from different countries.

2:o man that would be soo awesome! It would make me feel great to be able to be part of creating new technologies. Technology is our future so it is very great to be part of that

  4. I was impressed with the air bus. It was the most brilliant idea i have seen since the invention of fire.

I dont believe i have any potential to help this idea, But if i could help it would be cool to add to this insane project. I have no idea how our magnetic poles work. I do have a catchy slogan for it. Where ideas take flight.

  5. 1. The one that impressed me the most was the Cisco newspaper because not only did it the paper-thin screen show video, but it was also touch sensitive. It also amazingly was able to communicate with other devices, and as far as I could see there wasn't any box holding the components necessary to accomplish those feats.

    2. I think the technology of the kinect will shrink down to a small enough size to where it could be used in phones, or assisting with augmented reality. It may also be used in projecting holograms, as a personal health checking device, or possibly to record the day in the life of your shoes, IN 3D!!!

  6. The thin that impressed me the most was the wall that lets you see some one else like they are on the other side. The reason I liked it was it could revolutionize the way we communicate making things like land line telephones obsolete if you want to see grandma and grandpa you can just turn on the wall.

I would love to work on the new solar technology. I could help by finding places in phoenix that get a lot of sun to test them out on. I could also help cultivate the algae that produces the oil in that process. I could also work on the wall by testing it and helping to make it more efficient.

  7. Where are the IMAGINATIVE details?! You guys have more going on than what's up there!

  8. 1. I am impressed with the air bus because it would make our life alot easyer just think lesser cars means less gas in the air and plus everyone gets exercise from walking to the bus and what not :)
2.devloping future technology why not. i would start with helping design somthing to clean earths air from all this polution and then figure out a way to rid our trash better and irrigation no more dead fish lets all have a part in the procces our planet needs us besides we were the ones who made it bad in the first place so why not fix it with a new invention to save us all the trouble ;)

  9. 1. i thought the whole video was impressive it all looked so crazy
    2. if i could be a part of that it would be so amazing if i could help in this i could probably help most with testing them and finding out bugs in them and things of that nature

  10. 1. The idea that impressed me the most was the newspaper in the Advanced Future Technology video. It has a screen that is thin and paper-like to show videos and so much more information, and it is also sensitive to ones touch.

    2. If I were to be involved in this future innovation I would like to be apart of testing all of the new products to see how they work and find any defects in them before they go out on the market. That would be quite ideal.

  11. 1. The 2057 one impressed me the most because the dating caught my eye because I find future technology really interesting and since it's discover.com I figured it'd probably be very interesting. Next, in the future city part of the website, I really liked the hospital techonolgy part and how they think scientists will be able to see real time images of organs and everything. It sounds really interesting and I think it would be awesome.

    2. Technology I'd like to see in the future that I would definitely help innovate would be voice recongnizable gadgets like siri and the iphone. Or a coffee maker and the type of coffee you wanted, you could just speak it, if you were multi-tasking, it would come in handy. I dunno, just a thought :)

  12. 1) I liked the idea of future transportation. It is a radical concept and is something I'd like to hopefully get to be part of in the future. Not only just the airbus, but any floating transportation vehicle would be awesome. The video of what it might look like kind of reminded a little of Star Wars, but its still an awesome idea.

    2) If I were asked to help create idea's for future hovering vehicles, I would start by looking at cost for how much it would cost to create even just one of them because they might cost a lot to make with certain materials. So, that would bring up the question "Would everyone be able to afford such a vehicle?" I think that it might be expensive to make this idea of future transportation come true, so to solve that I would start by solving the cost issue and think of resources that could be used to make them cheaper.

  13. 1.) I personally liked both of the videos showing simulations of these technologies in use and how they would influence our everyday life.
2.) I would love to create an electronic sketch pad that can be used as a computer as well as doodling ans editing/creating photos. How cool would it be to be painting a picture of trees and when you cant find the right color all you need to do is hold up your sketchpad and use the eyedropper tool to take the right color right off of real tree?

  14. 1) Personally I think the interfaces between all the different computers and screens is really neat. Having a single device that transition from your pocket to a multi-paneled desktop to the windows of an office are very cool. The idea of large bulletin boards for families that act as message boards and calendars is very neat.

    2) While flying cars and jet packs are really neat, I don't have the engineering ability to help build those (I'll leave that for Marty). But what I think I can do is develop ways to use the technology that other people invent. I want to find solutions to business problems and work with people to communicate the different needs and see how they can be addressed with computers.

  15. 1) I liked the idea of the idea of defying gravity. Being able to manipulate gravity would make transportation amazingly faster and in multiple dimensions.

    2) I think the idea of flying cars would be fun to be apart of. Finding a way to use a propulsion that doesn't require any kind of harmful emissions would benefit the globe in soo many ways. It would also save the natural grounds around us.

  16. 1. Being a pilot myself I of course went the airbus. Even though I am not a fan of their current aircraft, I am a fan of anything that helps the world become a better place. Boeing FTW!!!

    2. As I mentioned before I am a pilot so I would be actively involved in the changing world of air transportation. The major factor I would want to see eliminated in air travel is all the time wasted on the ground. It is not uncommon at a busy airport to be waiting for what feels like an eternity. That is the first thing I would change with air travel waiting on the ground with your engines running is just a huge waste of fuel.

  17. 1. I found the synchronization of every single device very interesting. Every device freely communicated with each other and shared information.

    2. To accomplish this one would have to create not only a way to connect devices wirelessly, but also a security system to protect the user. The hardware to connect devices must be fast, wireless, and able to give each of the thousands of users a separate channel. The encryption to protect the user's information must be advanced enough to protect against hackers yet simple enough not to slow down processes. These challenges will always be present simply because human beings will always want their privacy and need the simplicity of wireless devices. The technology to do this effectively does not exist yet, but some day soon it will pop up and change the way we think

  18. 1. Air bus, Air bus, Air bus, Air bus! this would be soooo fantastic for transportation in busy cities or crowded areas.

    2. They would have to make it so that the rides were longer so it was frequent drops down. I could help with blue prints and figuring out how we could make it fly efficiantly without any chance of failing. I could also help plan routes and the best and i deal locations for this to dock, or maybe just make a website all about it;)

  19. 1. I'm interested in the interactive phone and the interactive airport. I think thats more interesting than the airbus to me.

    2. Suddenly. Angry birds. Everywhere. Unfortunately, the tool may be very expensive -- at least in this point. It may be less useful than the bus but it excites me more.

  21. 1. I'm interested in the glasses that translate into whatever language needed. It was very interesting on how even if your in a foreign country, you can understand the language.

    2. I would like to help develop the communication devices such as the phones, weird glass computer wall, and any other things. It would be hard to learn the technology but it would be fun when it was done.

  22. 1) I like the desktop to tablet. The fact that you can just drag what ever you were working on while using the desktop and put in on your tablet with just a swipe of the finger is just absolutely mind blowing!!!!

    2) I would use this to make projects and transport them with such ease. Also, you can edit videos and take them with you to edit while away from desktop. Finally, if you get uncomfortable with what you are doing then you can just transfer it then get comfortable and continue to work on it.

  23. My favorite is the guy's phone.

We are the future of technology. The average teen knows more about tech then the average adult in our present. Our generation will be the ones that possibly bring these ideas to life in bigger and better ways.

  24. The thing that impressed me the most was the wall that one to see some one else as though they were right in front of you. The reason I like this because it will change the way that communication is viewed. This would be a huge improvement on the standard webcam because it would be more immersive and lifelike.

2 As an engineer, I will be on the forefront of developing technological advancements. I will use my skills in order to take the ideas we read about and make them a reality.

  25. 1.I was most impressed with the phone in the first video. It looks really easy to use but even then the kids/teens who use it more will have a better understanding.
    2. I would love to help with the hardware manly because I have no idea how to make software.
