The U.S. government recognizes esports as real sports. There is no difference between other sports and esports is the amount of physical activity, but isn’t that relative?
2.One day Esports might very possibly take over other sports in popularity, but I don’t really care. You have to work as a team, you have to cooperate effectively, and you have to do your part to contribute to the team as a whole.
2. I believe that it's very possible that eSports might take over another sport in popularity. In the ESPN article linked above, it states that " The recent Evolution Championship Series event drew a record-breaking 1.7 million unique online viewers for the biggest fighting game tournament in the world." Esports is already bringing people from all over the world to watch as two teams battle it out, just like 'actual' sports do.
3. Many could argue on this opinion, but it's all up to you if esports couldn't or could be in the Olympics.

3. Twitch is a site were an individual create his own community by streaming a game(s) of his choice, this community bonds and interacts with this certain individual. The individual's job isn't just to get on everyday and entertain people, it's his job to create a community were people around the world can come and enjoy or learn something from this individual. I have seen many great Twitch communities and some really bad ones, in my opinion Twitch wasn't created to give people something to live off of, instead it was made to bring society together in their own areas and bond together to create a community open to anyone in need.

4. I would take the chance to be on an esports team because it has always been a dream of mine to become a professional gamer and to entertain people in need. I have to agree with ESPN President John Skipper when he references to it as a competition not a sport. Just as with chess, esports tend to be more mental instead of physical. However this does not mean that it is anything less of importance.

2. I'm pretty sure esports will not overtake things like basketball anytime soon. The tradition of sports is what keeps them alive and strong, and this is something that esports cannot (currently) match. I don't think the Olympics would be a good fit because like stated before, there is no physical exertion or exercise involved. Maybe it could create its own version of the Olympics...

3. Twitch is where people can live stream video recording or game play via capture card. Just like YouTube, the site generates add revenue for content creators often allowing another source of income (esports doesn't pay THAT much).

4. I don't know for sure. Sports is an activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively. At what point in time do physically exert your self when you sit down and play video games. People who actually play sports are working way harder physically then anybody who is sitting around in a chair playing video games saying they play sports. eSports is not Even close to being a sport.

2. NO, eSports will never be taking over anyone of those programs of sports ever. eSports will never be in the Olympics because that is not what the Olympics are about. The Olympics is about people Physically exerting themselves for medals they have been training hard for and the one that wants it the most can get it if they trained hard enough. someone sitting in a chair mashing buttons is not training hard.

3. it is about streaming.
4. no because there's better things in the world to do then play video games.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9123329717980057951.post-62665646068596856452015-02-28T17:02:33.075-08:002015-02-28T17:02:33.075-08:001. eSports shouldn't be considered a real spor...1. eSports shouldn't be considered a real sport simply because hey work as many hours (sometimes more) there are health risks involved, and you travel to different stadiums to play against other teams. A sport demands physical attributes. That's just something gaming doesn't have. If they were to put virtual reality devices into it, however, without a doubt it would be. Gaming is it's own thing, though. I really don;t think people should try to make it something that it isn't. It's like trying to make play-dough look like food, and expecting kids not to try to eat it. If it were to be a real sport, instead of an eSport, it would be laughed at in the face of actual athletes, and the rest of the community. Although, it should be considered an art. (Note: a sport is where you practice to defeat someone else, an art is where you practice to defeat your-self, or best yourself.) eSports fits more under the art category MUCH better, though. IN CONCLUSION, I think it should be considered an art, not a sport.

2. With the way things are going, it certainly looks like it. Think of how long basketball and other sports have been around. It's not too surprising that they are more popular. Although, look at how long eSports has been around. And look how far it's gotten! If it doesn't become more popular, it will become just as popular. If it were to be in an "Olympics" it should have it's own things. Because by no means should playing video games be apart of something like that.

3. Twitch is a website where you can watch people stream games with a very short delay, so you can chat with them if they don't have a HUGE amount of people watching him.

4. If I were good enough, of course. Although I wouldn't want to be known for being a bad player. But the same goes for if I was really good at playing basketball or other sports. I consider it a competition because you can do all the training for it like a athlete but people going into competitions are not athletes so gamers aren't. Athletes are more of people you do outside activities and not sitting.

2.Maybe in time because it could get more popular to see the people strain their minds in the game. It could end up in the Olympics. It is still tournament like just not athletic.

3.Twitch is a live broadcasting site for mostly gamers that so people watch them do stuff live.

4.Maybe but it depends on the game and how experienced I am at the game. While I understand the importance of eSports competitors being classified as athletes on a visa for the lack of better classification, and agree with its current classification in that sense, in my personal opinion I do agree with eSports being seen as a "competition." Since sports by definition require physical exertion, eSports neither fall under the blanket term of sport nor need to be.

2. I don't know if eSports will ever overtake traditional sports in popularity, but I'm not a fortune teller so I really don't know. An Olympic set of events of eSports, separate from the Summer and Winter Olympics, might be interesting. Obviously, the varied amount of video games and ways to play them are too broad for them to be compiled into a single eSports event, so it would be interesting to see eSports be treated as its own thing every four years.

3. Twitch is all about livestreaming video games and stuff to the public.

4. I absolutely refuse to be on an eSports team. Its hard, time consuming, stressful, and I have little personal interest in playing games at such a competitive level. One definition of a sport is "an activity involving PHYSICAL EXERTION and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment". When I think of sports, I think of breaking a sweat. Video games are an activity, where there are no major stakes, and everyone has some fun.

2. Games like these create a community where players collaborate and learn team work by strategizing inside of these games. If there was enough training and people spending time doing something like this, Esports could become something great and bigger than it already is!
2. Already, League of Legends has coliseums larger than the Super Bowl rented out so they can host competitions. There are viewers in the seats at these places and everyone online is able to watch all week long. Another thing is that these competitions last all week long rather than a single day! This creates so much money holding events like this and it may rise to the top as the most watched sports program.
3. Twitch is a live-streaming website where anyone can set up a live-stream and have anyone watch. It's a live feed and a live audience that can give their feedback whenever they want. Many large gamers use this as a way to give their fans a way to talk to the gamer and give them feedback on how they play the game.
4. I wouldn't join an Esport team just for the fact that I play videogames for the fun of it and to experience new adventures and worlds given to me. I'm not much of a competitive type, and playing games should be relaxing, not full of stress of winning and getting money if you win.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9123329717980057951.post-13517466800301885282015-02-27T11:38:56.401-08:002015-02-27T11:38:56.401-08:001. It's all based on opinions, so as long as more people like sports like football and basketball more than eSports, eSports won't be bigger.
3. Twitch is just livestreaming video games. Imagine watching Kobe Bryant play and being able to tell you what he's doing and interact and talk to him in the comfort of your home. It's just like that for Twitch and eSports.
4. I would. I have been a part of 2 teams on a MOBA called Smite, the one I'm in now is called Dishonored Gods (DiGo). The first team disbanded shortly after i joined, about 1-2 months after. I've been in many tournaments with DiGo and we have fought against the second best team at that time (now they are the World Champions) and have won 2 tournaments hosted by TierMonster. For FPS, MMO, time trial, puzzle, strategy, platform games.

3) Livestreaming games in real time to an audience who enjoys it, and to show the players response.

4) No I wouldn't, I'm not very competitive against others. and I only play games for fun, not to win win win. I mostly play games for the campaign anyway.
