The cost to buy one is $185,000 U.S. and a start up cost of $500,000 U.S.which to me is not worth in. Plus on top of that there is a yearly cost of $100,000.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9123329717980057951.post-30298365774856662042012-02-15T09:53:07.288-08:002012-02-15T09:53:07.288-08:00Ok so I discovered that You can purchase a domain ...Ok so I discovered that You can purchase a domain and create anything on it. To me that would be AWESOME, making funny ones and serious ones too. The big problem that I find is that it is $185,000 to purchase it and might not be such a good idea. But what I do find disturbing is that people with money and power would maybe use this depending on the class type of society that use,and use it to do bad things like lead a crowd with beliefs that others might find dangerous. So it would be amazing I shouldn't take it too serious but I'm not the only one that thinks of these ideas either. WHOOP YEAH! While the application is long and extrodinary expensive the proponents of the idea feel that it will help big name brands create a stronger identity while allowing smaller firms to latch on the domains that better describe what type of service or industry they represent. I think it will be a nice improvement and a good direction for the internet to head in. I like this idea because huge companies out there can finally have a chance to own there own domain that's just for them. For example, Google Inc. could now have its own domain ending in .google instead of the usual .com or other boring ones that have existed since the beginning of the internet. I'd like to see this happen! The only part that really stinks is that smaller companies won't be able to make their own domain names because not many non fortune 500 companies have about $800,000 to spare for their own personal domain names on the internet. This means a huge opening for internet (really domain) real estate. As more and more people gain access to the internet every day, domain names would get scarce fast if left to ".com", ".org", ".uk" etc. Now companies can open doors to exciting new ways to creatively be known on the internet. Instead of being "www.coca-cola.com" Coca-Cola can now be "www.coke.cola" or "www.coke.soda", the possibilities are endless. The fees to do this are: $185,000 per application, start-up costs of $500,000 (estimated), and annual costs of about $100,000. This greatly expands the capabilities of the internet at the cost of complementing things. It could confuse many who try to find a site if they are used to traditional domains (http://tinyurl.com/8ycds33).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9123329717980057951.post-54539918880057288392012-01-13T11:52:37.612-08:002012-01-13T11:52:37.612-08:00Also, this allows greater functionality for websit...Also, this allows greater functionality for website hosting.
